Master Mattes #8 is a light-medium caramel brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was nearly opaque, which made it a lot more than medium and buildable, though one could certainly use a lighter hand to get more gradual coverage if desired. The texture was smooth, velvety, and easy to work with as the powder seemed to "melt" on my skin and looked more like a cream eyeshadow than a powder one. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.
