Editor's Review

MAC Sweet Sentiment Mineralize Blush ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a "rosy pink." It's a cool-toned, muted, medium-dark pink with a lilac/lavender vibe. It had a satin finish with buildable color that was opaque in two layers. The blush felt soft, smooth, and was blendable on the skin. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours on me. Makeup Geek Rendezvous (P, $9.99) is darker, less shimmery. Makeup Geek Hanky Panky (P, $9.99) is less sihmmery. MAC Young at Heart (LE, $20.00) is a cream product. Clinique Plum Pop (04) (P, $21.00) is brighter. Milani Delizioso Pink (10) (P, $7.99) is brighter, lighter. Too Faced Jingle All the Way Blush (LE) is more shimmery. Tarte Dollface (P, $26.00) is lighter. NARS Angelika (P, $29.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Pink Tea (LE, $21.00) is similar. MAC Feeling Flush (LE, $27.00) is darker. Illamasqua Morale (P, $26.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Several years ago, because of my own foolish attempt to be "sensible", I missed out on MAC's Subtle Breeze Mineralize Blush. I did buy its warmer companion, Early Morning, and my love affair with the finish (not so much the colour, though), I've been kicking myself ever since and I've been waiting for a new MAC Mineralize Blush release that would rival Subtle Breeze. Having read the review of Sweet Sentiment, I decided that this might be just what I have been waiting for. In store, swatched on my hand, this didn't look very pigmented at all and I was of 2 minds with regard to buying it but having used my new one (rather than the counter tester) several times, I am thrilled. The colour is a perfect pretty, clean shade of pink. It buffs out to a very natural looking flush of colour and it wore exceedingly well on me, garnering several compliments when I wore it through a long work day followed by a long evening helping my sister in law with a rehearsal dinner she was hosting.
