MAC Power to the Purple is a very cool-toned, medium-dark purple with a matte finish. It is a permanent eyeshadow that retails for $17.00 and contains 0.05 oz.

Editor's Review

MAC Power to the Purple Eyeshadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark purple with cooler undertones and a matte finish. Against all odds, it had great color payoff in a single layer, and it was buildable to full coverage. The texture felt smooth to the touch, a bit more substantial, though not quite as velvety or as soft compared to some of the other revamped matte shades.

The color applied fairly evenly to bare skin but the edges took more effort to diffuse and soften, so I'd recommend going very light-handed along the edge or using a completely clean brush to diffuse the edges. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Power to the Purple is a bright medium matte purple with cool undertones, a color that I see more suitable for a make-up artist kit than a regular user since it's so... colorful. The eyeshadow is very pigmented, buildable to an intense color, but it's a color hard to work with, requires a lot of blending skills to not apply patchy. Also, it's one of the most powdery MAC formulas. I can't simply apply this eyeshadow without having lots of pick-up and it's definitely mandatory to do the eyes first because it gives tons of fallout (and purple eyeshadow is hard to clean).

I made an account on this website solely to confirm that this eyeshadow is , indeed, a patchy dud. The longevity is good and that's about it.

Mine is not like the one on here at all. Mine swatches patchy and sheer, is very chalky/rough feeling and blends away to nothing. On top of that it also seals up very fast which makes it even more difficult to work with. :(
