Danessa Myricks Rose Royal is a very cool-toned, dark red with a matte finish. It is a permanent eyeshadow that retails for $18.00 and contains 0.34 oz.
Danessa Myricks Rose Royal Colorfix Matte ($18.00 for 0.34 oz.) is a deep red with moderate, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer where a little went a very long way, so it was always better to use less and build up coverage--which was very doable--rather than try the reverse.
I'd recommend using fluffy, synthetic or duo-fiber brushes, which have a more feathering effect for application and worked beautifully to apply and diffuse the color. The color is so vivid and deep, combined with intense pigmentation, that another way to work with it is to layer under foundation for a more transparent look. I was impressed by how well it blended out using brushes, and it did not feel difficult to do, even though it was quicker to dry down.
The texture was smooth, lightly fluid but not runny or too thick, so it spread evenly over my skin without sheering out too readily if higher coverage was desired. The product applied evenly to my lips and felt lightly tacky but was non-drying. It wore well for nine hours as a cheek product, 10 hours as an eye product, and seven hours as a lip product.
