Danessa Myricks Coffee Cake Colorfix Matte ($18.00 for 0.34 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. When applied and sheered out a bit, it was almost like a muted rusty-copper. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer and did not need much product to get there. With this shade and formula, you'll want to use less than you think you need and build up if necessary.
The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and creamy and was quick to dry down, so it was imperative to work one eye or cheek at a time, but I did not find it too difficult to get a blended result. While I preferred using a fluffy brush for cheeks overall, particularly for blending, fingertips worked for getting an initial placement of color, but I just found a duo-fiber brush did a better job of really blowing out the edges. It worked well with fingertips or a brush for application to the eyes and lips.
It stayed on nicely for 10 hours as an eye color, nine and a half hours as a cheek color, and six hours as a lip product. It emphasized my lip texture slightly as a lip product, though it was lightly flexible but transfer-resistant; the formula felt non-drying overall.
