Editor's Review

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable.  They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.

The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply.  Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter.  They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Claims / Ingredients

Our famous long-wearing crème powder formula with a unique bouncy-like texture. It's super creamy, insanely pigmented, and has one swipe intensity with zero fallout. For Max Coverage - Use your fingertip and tap shadow directly onto the eyelid. A flat, firm synthetic brush will also work and is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. To Blend - Use a fluffy synthetic brush with good movement, dip the tip into the shadow and apply with a "windshield wiper" movement throughout the crease of the eye for a soft and diffused look.

Love that the proceeds go to charity, and this is a beautiful shade! The glitter in it is duochrome (it's almost holographic glitter with light greens and pinks) and makes a GREAT topper over other eyeshadow. The base color is pretty light, so I would definitely use this shade as a highlighter or as a topper. So, so pretty. <3

My favorite of the Colour Pop eye shadows, mainly because it is so versatile. It\'s a great transition color for my skin tone. I tend to favor the cooler tones as warm tones end up looking orange on me. Also great all over the lid for a minimal makeup day. The formula goes on smooth and blends out easily with most make up brushes. I tend to use my fingers to apply first, then a brush to blend. No creasing or fading issues when used with a primer. A great intro color to those new to the colour pop formula.

I was so excited to try this because of all the hype. I hit pan after ONE use! It doesn't stay on and was super fussy. Personally when I switched it with my finger, it was much more transparent than the swatch here. I used a mixing medium to get it to stay. Hopefully not all ColourPop shadows are like this, but it was chunky.

This shade is so pretty. The glitter is very multi-dimensional, and I have little, if any, fallout when wearing it. I have no creasing or fading even after wearing all day.

Highly pigmented as you build up the color. Blends easily, I like to couple with a light seaform green. Fun color, bit of a learning curve to use.

This is an amazingly muted pinky-purple shade that I like to wear either above my crease, in my crease, or on my lid, depending on the look that I'm going for. It really applies & blends out easily with most brushes. * the only time I'll use my ring finger to apply these is with the more sparkly shades, & only for my lids (espec when I just want a pop in the center of the lid)

Liberty is the most metallic eyeshadow I have ever seen! It is a gorgeous silver that is extremely pigmented. It is a very creamy powder, almost to the point of being a cream eyeshadow. Best silver ever!

This is easily my favorite Colour Pop shadow, and I love it in the crease. It doesn't look like much in the pan, but when you put it on it's got this understated mauve tone that is just wonderful.

I would like this shade better if it was a little bit more wet. It leans dry which makes it a tiny bit harder to apply over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy than other glittery ColourPop shadows.

I think Christine might have gotten a bad pan of Hello, because mine is a very "wet" cream - it is not dry nor does it pill as she describes her pan. I did not have significant creasing. I think this shade is on par with the quality of ColourPop's other matte shades.

Great color worn with Deck also from CP and even though glittery was ok for office, but the fallout was crazy. After 6 hours or so it looked like I had a ring of glitter around my eye. (And this was over primer, which I almost never use.). Will def try it again and use other CP products.

I can see what all the fuss is about; the application was super easy and the formula is great. The color was a little lighter than expected, but I love it. It really works with brown eyes. I put it on just to go out to an early dinner so I didn't bother with primer and when I took it off six hours later, it hadn't creased, even on my oily lids.
