Pat McGrath EYEdols Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 1)
Enraptured
Pat McGrath Enraptured Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich, molten gold with warm, golden undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, while the texture was soft, lightly creamy, and smooth to the touch, though it is so easy to blend out and so pigmented that a little goes a long way–I highly recommend using a bit less than you’d think to use normally! The eyeshadow applied beautifully to bare skin and lasted well for nine and a half hours on me. It was consistent with version from the Subliminal Dark Star palette.

Pat McGrath's eyeshadows are, generally, supposed to be "super-saturated" with "creamy, soft textures" and "extreme blendability and adherence without creasing." A lot of how well they perform (and to some degree, how they are supposed to be applied and marketed) depends on the type of shades, but by and large, the eyeshadows perform very much as they are described.
The brand released single eyeshadows in March 2019, and the shades have been consistent in quality, look, and feel. They are not removable, unfortunately, so one would have to depot like any other single eyeshadow--I tried using tweezers and lifting on several shades to no avail. The lids are held closed by a weak magnet, so I'm not sure they're as secure as most single eyeshadow compacts in my stash--I wish it really locked in, but there's definitely a magnet that pulls the lid down if it's within 2mm of the base.
The mattes are velvety, blendable, and dense without being thick or too heavy, and they have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation where a little can go a long way with some of the deeper and richer hues. The satin and pearl finishes are smooth, lightly creamy, and firmer but not dense or thick with good pigmentation, blendability, and easy application. The more metallic finishes tend to be softer, creamy, and smooth with a bit more denseness and no powderiness. The sparkly/glittery shades are often designed to be applied wet for richer coverage or intensity, which has largely been my experience. Most of the shades last between eight and nine hours.

Celestial
Pat McGrath Celestial Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a soft, golden beige with a sparkling finish. The texture was drier, which also felt a bit firm/stiff, and I needed to push more firmly against the surface to get good pigmentation out of the shade. It seemed harder to get some of the sparkles to translate onto my skin as a result. The eyeshadow blended out easily once on my skin and stayed on well for nine hours. The single version was a bit drier, less cream-like compared to the version in the Sublime Bronze Temptation palette.

Telepathic Taupe
Pat McGrath Telepathic Taupe Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a muted, medium bronze with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The color coverage was opaque in one layer, while the texture was smooth to the touch, creamy without being too dense or too thick on my lid. The color went on evenly, maintained its intensity but was still blendable along the edges. It wore nicely for just over nine hours on me before fading a bit. It was consistent with the version from the Subliminal Platinum Bronze palette.

I think I might pick up Divine Mink. I don’t have any dupes and it’s such an interesting color!
Thank you for the reviews, but also for telling which single was in which palette! Sometimes, I get confused and I was scared I might end up with a dupe, but this is super helpful!
Oh my, this very liquid molton metal eye look is everything! That said, I still have Divine Mink on my WL even though I have UD Drift. It just appears to be THAT much better, but I really should knock that one off my radar, eh? Improbable though that be!
Oooo…I’m agreeing with AJ…Divine Mink is gorgeous! And it’s cool-toned! Thank you for the reviews!
thank you for posting this! I love me a sparkly glittery eyeshadow and it sounded like Celestial would be the one, but maybe not 🙁
Stunning neutral shades, all with a ton of dupes, but still gorgeous. Just love your eye look Christine.
Thanks for the quick reviews, Christine! So I finally broke out my Decadence palette and O.M.G. The longevity and shine and saturation of these shadows is unreal. It’s crazy how good they are. You were so right about this palette!!
Glad to see most of the singles are consistent with their palette counterparts. Looking forward to part 2!
Love your eye look Christine. I can’t wait to get my hands on these. Thank you for the reviews, I’m constructing my list and counting the days. I don’t get excited about many things, this is it.
Telepathic Taupe though !
What a beauty!
Thank you so much Christine for providing which palette with link the single is in. That will definitely prevent me from ordering a single when I have the palette. I’m going to add Divine Mink to my list I do not own any of the dupes.
Such gorgeous shades. Look forward to seeing more from this collection.
Thank you for the swatches! Are these depottable? I’m wondering if I can make my a diy palette of my favorite shades.
I am shocked ud smog is listed as a dupe for telepathic taupe. The former is a golden brown and the latter is a sparkly beige taupe on my skintone. I wish I could vote that it’s 60% different because that’s how it feels.
These are beautiful shadows, I just wish there was a palette we could get to put them in, seems a waste to just have pots everywhere.
Divine mink…….love that color just not the sodium benzoate!
