All of Temptalia's Favorite Things Look (January 2018)

My husband and I had a bit of a date night, where we went to a nice restaurant for dinner before going to the symphony that was playing various pieces from the Harry Potter series. I decided to use some of my newly discovered favorites, like Pat McGrath’s Decadence Palette, Natasha Denona’s Diamond & Blush Palettes, and Urban Decay Rebel Vice Lipstick.

Christine, I think it’s wonderful that you get the chance to wear what you love (and the same look on BOTH eyes) rather than what you’re testing (even if you happen to be testing things you love, I’m guessing you don’t get to wear them for very long!). I love the look of both Sinful and Divine Mink from the ND palette but that baby is just too spendy here (and not available in-store for me to see how much I like/need or don’t need) some of the colours but, heavens, seeing your eye look makes me want to say “to heck with it” and just order EVERYTHING!
Oh, I tested products earlier in the day – made sure to get up extra early so I could get the testing in, and then removed and startedover!
I am almost positive you have some good dupes for the standout shades in the Pat McGrath palette, though 😉 Particularly Sinful!
Only 5, but some of them really aren’t that close. And I think I’ve only one dupe for Divine Mink (or maybe none) but it’s that whole Achilles Heel of having them all together, all in one palette that gnaws away at me (talk about a mixed metaphor!)
Very very pretty look Christine! You lightened your hair? Very nice. I love your dark natural color but that looks pretty also.
I’m thinking 2017 is a typo?
Sounds like a nice date night
So sorry, it was 2018 – such a dummy over here!
A dummy you are not!
You are looking absolutely stunning my love ?…. God bless the lovely couple ?
Thanks, Rashmi! 🙂
You look amazing! Did you change your hair? It looks a bit more caramel-y now, very lovely! (You are selling me that palette… but when would I wear it? Questions!) Hope you had a nice night at the symphony!
Yes, I just cut off about 10″ (to donate) and then tried balayage for the first time!
The balayage suits you, and done very nicely.
Looks gorgeous!!
I like the eye look! You are a pro a blending. I can see a lot of individual colors but they go well together.
Thank you, Jenny!!
Your hair looks great! I’ll have to try recreating your look with shades from my stash, it makes your eyes look really bright.
I hope you can try the look, Alexa!
Very nice! Hope you had a good time! (also, we never see you with your hair down – holy crap it’s got more highlights than I remember!)
I haven’t had any color in my hair since I was about 20, I think 🙂 I just cut 10″ to donate (my third time!), and I felt like maybe I deserved to play with the color again.
I really love this post 🙂 given your massive stash of options it’s nice to see what you would pick to wear and what has stood out among all the products you test to be chosen for a special night out.
Glad you enjoyed it!
YOUR NEW HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD!!!!! ? Treat yoself, Christine!
Thank you!
You have that flawless California glam thing going on right there! It all comes together just right. And your hair looks gloriously sunny and brightens up your entire face! Glad that you and your Hub got to enjoy some time together apart from the usual day to day stuff.
I feel like it makes me look tanner, lol!
Wow look at your beautiful hair!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it a different color. Suits you nicely! How was the symphony?
It was really cool! I love classical music, so having a Harry Potter spin on symphony was nice!
You look beautiful I love your hair!!! Harry Potter symphony sounds so fun.
Thank you, Ginny! It was cool to hear familiar music in symphony format 🙂
Your make-up is gorgeous, Christine, as is your hair colour!!!
Thank you, Martyna!
What a beautiful look! The concert sounds like it would be wonderful. I hope you had an amazing time. 🙂
It was fun! 🙂
This is a beautiful look and I love your earrings. It sounds like a wonderful evening for you two.
Thanks a lot, Aline!
Such a beautiful look Christine? Your hair looks very pretty with the highlights in it!!
Thank you, Dominique!
Your hair looks so pretty down, although I can see why you pull it back on blog photographs. I love the color.
Thank you!
Christine you look wonderful! ?
I really like this format. I hope this won’t be the last one!
This isn’t a new format – I’ve been posting my looks consistently for at least the last year! 🙂 Most of them are featured in a respective review so there’s no need to post just the look itself if it’s tied to a review since it would just be redundant and tiresome!
I meant the look with favourites ! But you are right, I am forgetting hehe
Ahh, gotcha! 🙂
OMG, I usually never comment, but I have to say that hair colour looks absolutely amazing on you! It brightens your face so much.
I also love the eye look, neutral yet colourful on the lower lash line, one of my favourite tricks 😀
Thank you! I’m not yet sure how I feel about the hair.
You’ll obviously need some adaptation time haha but I’m sure you’ll eventually love it 😉
Hopefully! 🙂 I’d like a few more dark pieces overall (it feels a little light, a little blonder than I want), but my colorist really did a bang-on job compared to the photo I gave her really (and my worry was that it might be lighter). So, hopefully, after some growth, I’ll get more of the dark color closer to my face that I want!
You look so pretty!!!
Thanks, Ashley!
Looks so pretty!!!
Thanks, Beth!
You look just lovely. I love that the eye is distinctly colourful, but still muted enough to work in a lot of different scenarios. And wow to those highlights! The tones work really well on your skin. I’ve followed your blog a long time and I don’t recall you ever changing your hair colour.
I stopped dying in when I was in college, maybe at 18 or 19? (I only dyed it some really deep purple-black from Feria.) I then started growing my hair out + donating it, but I’ve always wanted to to try highlighting… but I loathe going to the salon, so with how fast my hair grows and my near-black hair, I just ruled them out. I just donated for my third time, and I had learned about balayage recently, which has a lot less maintenance compared to highlights and decided it was time to give something new a try. I’m not in love with it, but I am glad I did it.
Oooh, love your eye look!! Smokin’ hot! Glad you treated yourself to a nice break
Thanks, Katherine!
Is this going to become a new monthly-favorites type series? If so, I’m excited!
I don’t plan to – it just happened to be an occasion, so I got up a few hours early so I could test products and then redo everything later on!
Beautiful look! Also, I love your new hair colour!
Thank you, Christina!
Beautiful!!
Thank you, Mariah!
Love love this look on you Christine!! The hair especially!! ?
Thanks a lot, Sheena!
I didn’t realize your hair was that long, wow! I love your new hair color which really brightens your beautiful face. I am going to however, stay strong and resist buying that Decadence palette (my bank account said “no, can do girl, LOL!!”). Anyway, thanks for sharing and glad you enjoy your date night. 🙂
I tried to grow it out for as long as I could stand to since I knew I was going to do balayage and that wouldn’t be able to donate for at least a couple of years as a result! My hair is really thick, and I have a lot of it, so finally, the increased shoulder/neck pain (I was taking max pain medications almost every day and noticed I’d been doing so for over a month) made me hit the limit.
Christine you look so beautiful with your hair down! ❤️ Lovely makeup!
Thank you, Pris!
You look lovely, Christine. 🙂
Thanks, Veronica!
Nothing for me to say that hasn’t already been said but I couldn’t resist adding my voice to the chorus of those who love the whole look – hair included!
Thank you, Lindsay!
You truly do look gorgeous with that hair!!! And that eye look is stunning! I am a little confused about the three Fenty foundations though. Do you need to mix three to get to your shade???
Yeah, right now, I’m mixing three but will eventually settle on a combo of two, I think.
Love the eye look! I always have trouble trying to figure out what colors to put together and your website is my go to for that. I recreated it tonight using colour pops magic palette, the blue shade I used from another brand but almost every other color I was able to get a pretty close match! Loved it! Question – you have colour pop truth again under foundation – do you mix truth in with the foundation? If so please tell me how! Thanks!
Love this post! Makes me want to pull out some makeup and have fun with some of my new favorites! It kind of reminded me of when I first discovered your blog and loved looking through all your looks. Your new hair looks great!
Thank you so much, Cat!
Stunning!
Thank you!
Do you really use 3 different kinds of foundation? If so, why and do you mix them or use them on different parts of your face?
I just mix them to get my shade match.
