About this Look

My husband and I had a bit of a date night, where we went to a nice restaurant for dinner before going to the symphony that was playing various pieces from the Harry Potter series.  I decided to use some of my newly discovered favorites, like Pat McGrath’s Decadence Palette, Natasha Denona’s Diamond & Blush Palettes, and Urban Decay Rebel Vice Lipstick.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Inner lid: Inferno
  • Middle of lid: Sinful
  • Outer lid: Enigma
  • Crease: Divine Mink
  • Above crease: Blue Blood
  • Browbone: Truth, Sinful (right under the arch)
  • Lower lash line:  Perversion, Sinful, Lapis Luxury, Enchantress
  • Blush: Golden Peach, Medium-Nude
  • Highlighter: Yellow-Green, Icy Nude
  • Lips: Pillow Talk, Rebel, Universal

Christine, I think it’s wonderful that you get the chance to wear what you love (and the same look on BOTH eyes) rather than what you’re testing (even if you happen to be testing things you love, I’m guessing you don’t get to wear them for very long!). I love the look of both Sinful and Divine Mink from the ND palette but that baby is just too spendy here (and not available in-store for me to see how much I like/need or don’t need) some of the colours but, heavens, seeing your eye look makes me want to say “to heck with it” and just order EVERYTHING!

Oh, I tested products earlier in the day – made sure to get up extra early so I could get the testing in, and then removed and startedover!

I am almost positive you have some good dupes for the standout shades in the Pat McGrath palette, though 😉 Particularly Sinful!

Only 5, but some of them really aren’t that close. And I think I’ve only one dupe for Divine Mink (or maybe none) but it’s that whole Achilles Heel of having them all together, all in one palette that gnaws away at me (talk about a mixed metaphor!)

You look amazing! Did you change your hair? It looks a bit more caramel-y now, very lovely! (You are selling me that palette… but when would I wear it? Questions!) Hope you had a nice night at the symphony!

I really love this post 🙂 given your massive stash of options it’s nice to see what you would pick to wear and what has stood out among all the products you test to be chosen for a special night out.

This isn’t a new format – I’ve been posting my looks consistently for at least the last year! 🙂 Most of them are featured in a respective review so there’s no need to post just the look itself if it’s tied to a review since it would just be redundant and tiresome!

OMG, I usually never comment, but I have to say that hair colour looks absolutely amazing on you! It brightens your face so much.
I also love the eye look, neutral yet colourful on the lower lash line, one of my favourite tricks 😀

You look just lovely. I love that the eye is distinctly colourful, but still muted enough to work in a lot of different scenarios. And wow to those highlights! The tones work really well on your skin. I’ve followed your blog a long time and I don’t recall you ever changing your hair colour.

I stopped dying in when I was in college, maybe at 18 or 19? (I only dyed it some really deep purple-black from Feria.) I then started growing my hair out + donating it, but I’ve always wanted to to try highlighting… but I loathe going to the salon, so with how fast my hair grows and my near-black hair, I just ruled them out. I just donated for my third time, and I had learned about balayage recently, which has a lot less maintenance compared to highlights and decided it was time to give something new a try. I’m not in love with it, but I am glad I did it.

I didn’t realize your hair was that long, wow! I love your new hair color which really brightens your beautiful face. I am going to however, stay strong and resist buying that Decadence palette (my bank account said “no, can do girl, LOL!!”). Anyway, thanks for sharing and glad you enjoy your date night. 🙂

I tried to grow it out for as long as I could stand to since I knew I was going to do balayage and that wouldn’t be able to donate for at least a couple of years as a result! My hair is really thick, and I have a lot of it, so finally, the increased shoulder/neck pain (I was taking max pain medications almost every day and noticed I’d been doing so for over a month) made me hit the limit.

You truly do look gorgeous with that hair!!! And that eye look is stunning! I am a little confused about the three Fenty foundations though. Do you need to mix three to get to your shade???

Lisa Avatar

Love the eye look! I always have trouble trying to figure out what colors to put together and your website is my go to for that. I recreated it tonight using colour pops magic palette, the blue shade I used from another brand but almost every other color I was able to get a pretty close match! Loved it! Question – you have colour pop truth again under foundation – do you mix truth in with the foundation? If so please tell me how! Thanks!

Love this post! Makes me want to pull out some makeup and have fun with some of my new favorites! It kind of reminded me of when I first discovered your blog and loved looking through all your looks. Your new hair looks great!
