Natasha Denona Zendo Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Zendo
Natasha Denona Zendo Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new, permanent mini five-pan palette that features three shimmery eyeshadows and two mattes. Four of the five shades were really lovely; pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing, but one shade–Dazz–was oddly firm/stiff in the pan, almost thin and compacted into the pan, but seemed to soften after several layers were used (or in my case, I removed a few, too). That definitely isn’t the norm with the brand’s eyeshadow formula! It isn’t “back to normal” after that, but it was decent from there on.

Stark (335M)
Stark (335M) is a deep plum with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease. The texture was lightly creamy, dense but not thick or difficult to pick up with a dry brush. It lasted nicely for nine hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$29.00/0.08 oz. - $362.50 Per Ounce
The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.
The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.
Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

Bare (336CM)
Bare (336CM) is a medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that could be built up to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was more velvety and substantial but had a touch of powderiness in the pan, so I would use a lighter hand with it to minimize excess kicked up in the pan. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly on me.

Stripped (337M)
Stripped (337M) is a darker, pewter gold with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The eyeshadow had a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of opaque coverage in a single pass. The eyeshadow had an almost greenish tint in the pan at times, though it didn’t have a shift in practice–it was just like a “dirty” taupe and when I cross-referenced it, the shade fit in with pewters the best (which makes sense). This shade stayed on well for nine hours before fading a bit.

Dazz (339DC)
Dazz (338DC) is a light-medium coral with strong, warm golden shimmer throughout and a slightly pinker base. It was lighter and warmer than a lot of corals in this vein (ones with a lot of gold shimmer). The texture was firmer and stiffer, though, and I felt like I had to work through the first few layers to get something softer and more yielding. It had nearly opaque color coverage that adhered fairly evenly after I removed some of the pan’s surface. It lasted well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Uncovered (338CM)
Uncovered (339CM) is a muted, medium copper with subtle, warm reddish undertones and a matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and velvety without being powdery. It wore beautifully for nine hours before fading slightly.

This might sound ridiculous, but this keeps reminding me of Pat McGrath’s Divine Rose (the launch that made me swear off the brand forever). Or maybe it’s what I wanted the palette to be? With a touch of Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance?
I’m tempted, but I’m also barely wearing any makeup nowadays (Zoom teaching!). Plus isn’t there a possibility of a larger palette? I shall sit on my hands and resist, because it’s gorgeous!
I saw a large palette on Trendmood today (not in these colors), and it’s gorgeous!
I have practical dupes for this palette.. subtle differences, so I am pained to taking a pass. Hoping for a larger Zendo palette in the future.
She actually did TM a full-sized Zendo Palette. However, I also saw where she has a habit of cancelling some her TM’s, too. I’m definitely hoping for a midsized Zendo Palette in the near future too, Wednesday!
Beautiful! What a gorgeous color story!
That you were able to get a cohesive look out of this peculiar shade selection, especially getting Dazz and Stripped to somehow meld together, totally sells me on this odd little Mini! Up till now, I couldn’t imagine those two shades working so well in one look. Now I know that they can!
I wasn’t going to buy this, but you look is so lovely that I probably will! Btw, you eyebrows are always on point, what products do you use on them?
I use ABH Dip Brow!
I was going to skip this one, but seeing the eye look you did is making me consider! So pretty!
Beautiful look Christine! I’ve really enjoyed this palette. I’ve created several looks with it and paired it with infranude. 😍
Thank you, Brenda!
So pretty!! This would be very popular in East Asia I think.
I love the Stark and Stripped shades – they are beautiful, but the rest I wouldn’t use. It is still a lovely mini palette and I think the shades work well together.
I ordered it and it is on its way to me. I just loved the colours and your look Christine.
Thanks for the review, looks so pretty. do you have an article about which mini palette to get as the first Natasha eyeshadow? would love to read that. Thinking of getting my first!
