Naya (4B)

Natasha Denona Naya (4B) I Need a Nude Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark brown with more toned down, but still warm, undertones and a cream finish. It had excellent pigmentation in a single stroke, which adhered evenly to my lips and applied comfortably as it didn’t tug or drag. The consistency was lightweight, velvety, and creamy enough to glide over my lips but didn’t slide around during wear. It wore well for five and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$25.00/0.14 oz. - $178.57 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to "lightweight" with a "creamy" texture and a "softly luminous finish" that feels "deeply hydrating." There was no reference to coverage, but the promotional swatches showed opaque coverage.

The range is broken up into four undertones: Beige (suits neutral, warm, red skin tones), Neutral Beige (suits all skin tones), Neutral Pink (suits all skin tones), and Pink (suits warm and yellow skin tones). The shades also range from very light to deep so that there's one that will "flatter each and every skin tone."

They are pigmented with semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single layer, and the majority of the shades applied evenly to my lips. They have a denser, more velvety formula that had some creaminess to them without feeling traditionally wet or emollient. The formula has satin-to-cream finish that wears down to a semi-matte finish within two to three hours or can be quickly blotted down if preferred.

I noticed that most shades had a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines with it often not being noticeable in person, just in the close-up photos, but lighter shades were more likely to be visible in person as well as in the close-up photos. They wore between four and six hours, were lightly hydrating to non-drying, and wore away evenly. The formula has a fairly strong, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Nati (5B)

Natasha Denona Nati (5B) I Need a Nude Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep, reddish brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a cream finish. The color coverage was opaque, while the color went on evenly and smoothly over my lips without tugging or dragging. The lipstick had a lightweight, velvety consistency that wasn’t too emollient but looked shinier than it felt (in terms of slip). It lasted well for six hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Lala (6B)

Natasha Denona Lala (6B) I Need a Nude Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep brown with subtle, muted warm undertones and a lightly creamy finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered beautifully to bare lips with a smooth, even lay down of product. The consistency was lightly creamy but denser, as there was a velvety quality that helped it glide as it went on. This shade stayed on nicely for six hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

I have got to try Nati on again, this time with more subdued eye makeup than my last time. Something tells me that I will love the sepia photo effect it could potentially have.

Naya is a pleasant surprise! Reminds me of a lipstick I wore back in the late 70’s that others loved on me. Not sure it could ride with my 60 y.o. choppers vs. 17-19 y.o. me!

Nati and Lala are very similar to each other, but both are beautifully rich chocolate shades. Once upon a time I would have drooled over these, but now I find such deep shades don’t quite suit me as before.

I have Naya- it’s beautiful and a flattering MLBB shade for darker skinned NC44/45 individuals. I had mine in my purse for a while and the bullet sadly fell out. Disappointing, but even so, I’d like to get more shades.
