NARS x Erdem Strange Flowers Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 1)
Bloodflower
NARS Bloodflower Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium red with subtle, neutral-to-cool undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, thin consistency that applied without dragging and adhered well to lips without moving during wear. The lipstick stayed on well for over six hours, left a moderate reddish stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Carnal Carnation
NARS Carnal Carnation Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation (it was marketed as “sheer”) with a lightweight, lightly emollient texture that melted and became easier to work with as it warmed up against my lips. The color went on evenly without emphasizing my lip lines. The formula was neither drying nor hydrating, and this shade wore well for four and a half hours on me.

Larkspur
NARS Larkspur Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium purple with warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that covered my lips evenly and smoothly–it looked almost liked a glossy stain more than a typical lipstick. The texture was lightweight without being clingy and had slight slip but did not slide around while worn. It lasted for four hours and was non-drying.

I really love the Larkspur lipstick and how it’s pairing with your beautiful eye makeup (love the lavender at the inner corners!). This collection is so pretty.
These are all so pretty, but I’m especially drawn to Larkspur. Looks like a gorgeous everyday shade for days when I want a subtle pop of color, rather than a fully opaque berry shade. This is very tempting.
So pretty!! I’m loving this on you! Reminds me of that Sephora Radiant Orchid semi sheer lipstick and Club Monaco Glaze!
I’ve been in love with your photography for this collection! The dark floral backdrop is just beautiful and unique, and makes the products look so striking. Was it your idea or NARS’ to use the floral print? Either way, you execute it wonderfully.
I picked up Larkspur and Carnal Carnation (and also Moon Orchid) over the weekend and I love these colors in this sheer/stain texture. I’ll be wearing them all the way through spring/summer!
So, I cannot tell a lie, I caved and picked up an eye shadow palette, a blush and a lipstick from this collection. I ended up getting Larkspur just because I have been into these lavender/purple shades lately and since I was placing an order for the eye shadow palette and the blush I decided to try this lippie also. Glad to see that it scored well. I am not sure about the eye shadow palette but have to admit I caved because of the packaging. I also went with the darker blush, Loves Me, as I have so many dupes for the lighter one. I thought I would try out the highlighter crayon also. I purchased from the Nars website and have never purchased directly from Nars before so don’t know anything about how quickly they will ship. Looking forward to getting it though.
These are lovely! Leave it to Nars to make nice lipsticks. I definitely get a floral feel from this collection, which is very true to the design house.
Every one of these looks pretty darn fab! I just don’t see myself buying one, though. Mainly because I have my favorite warm fuchsia lipsticks and reds already. And a sheer purple like this over my sometimes cyanotic leaning lips could look like I’m in dire need of an oxygen tank! Funny, not funny, but yeah.
Nancy T, does having your favorite warm fuchsia and red lipsticks really stop you from buying more? If so, can you please teach me the secret to having that much control? Lol!
I almost bought Chanel Pirate this weekend despite the fact that I already have several favorite reds in my collection. And now I’m drooling over Larkspur despite the fact that I already have several great berry and purple lipsticks. I don’t know how to stop!!!
Not so sure I’d call it self-control as much as I’d call it running out of space, Seraphine! That, and I don’t want to neglect what I do have and love. But, it is an ongoing battle with myself lately to not keep buying more of the same!
(Yes, Larkspur is very tempting!?)
Nars seems to do consistently well with their reds. I do like bloodflower
Larkspur really grabbed my attention. I initially thought the color was going to be exactly how it looked in the tube which was a color I’d been hunting down for a while. But the sheerness of it is so pretty too that I still like it despite my surprise. Nars has really been hitting the target on their releases! This collection especially.. the packaging is gorgeous. A nice change from their classic, yet still edgy.
Love the Bloodflower shade and all of these are good ones.
Bloodflower is gorgeous!
I’m not a fan of the packaging but Larkspur looks sooo hydrating and just satisfying. I might actually pick this one up when it hits department stores here in Korea.
Larkspur is surprisingly wearable as it has a tint rather than a deep opaque purple. I also love Carnal Carnation for my complexion.
I’ve got to have Larkspur!
Is there anything that doesn’t look good on you? Anything at all?
Bloodflower and Carnal Carnation are really tempting me! Maybe I’ll order them with the Fleur Fatale palette-if I do get all 3 items, I should really wait until my next pay period.
You’re right, Larkspur is more like a lip stain, or a lip tint oil, not a gel like I thought it would be for some reason. It looks okay on me and a nice pop of color that is wearable for work, but I think wanted more of a gel consistency.
