NARS Sheena, Siouxsie, Nancy Audacious Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Sheena
NARS Sheena Audacious Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium coral with warm undertones and a satin sheen. The pigmentation was fantastic with rich, opaque color coverage delivered in a single layer. The color applied evenly without dragging, as the lipstick had a lightly creamy texture that was smooth without being too emollient or slippery. It stayed on well for five hours and was lightly hydrating while worn.
This shade is exclusive to Nordstrom and will be available October 18th.

Formula Overview
$34.00/0.14 oz. - $242.86 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "one-stroke, full-coverage" pigmentation with a "soft matte finish" that is "long-lasting" and "hydrating." The formula is best characterized by its texture: creamy, smooth, and slightly denser/thicker on (but not heavy) compared to the typical lipstick formula. Most of the shades are opaque, while "weak" shades are more semi-opaque. The majority of the colors I've tested have applied evenly and smoothly with good glide and feel comfortable on my lips. They tend to last between four and six hours and was lightly hydrating to non-drying. There was no noticeable scent or taste.

Siouxsie
NARS Siouxsie Audacious Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark burgundy with subtle, cool red undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a moderately emollient consistency that had a tendency to slide on my lips for the first two hours of wear. After some of the shine wore down, it seemed to adhere better to my lips. The color went on fairly evenly, especially given the texture, but it was nowhere near as impressive as most of the Audacious range has been. The lipstick lasted nicely on my lips for six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing. I didn’t experience any feathering or bleeding with this shade.
This shade is exclusive to Sephora and will be available October 8th.

Nancy
NARS Nancy Audacious Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a blackened purple with subtle, warm pink undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single, fluid layer that adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips without emphasizing my lip lines. It had a lightly creamy, moderately emollient consistency–it felt more slippery than the average Audacious Lipstick has to me–but it managed to go on evenly. This shade stayed on well for six and a half hours and felt less high-maintenance after an hour or so of wear (or, pro tip, blot lightly after initial application). The formula felt lightly hydrating over time and did not experience any feathering or bleeding while worn.
This shade is exclusive to NARS.

I’m more than a bit disconcerted by the shape of the actual lipsticks themselves! I’ve had a few lippies in past that have melted (by accident) that had a similar look.
Ok, so I’m just glad someone else said it before me. The color I like best is Sheena, but its really too warm for my taste, but that bullet would just drive me crazy. I don’t even like the ones that are completely round like the UD Revolution lipsticks. I want a point. Can’t truly answer why other than to say I must be weird, lol.
Same here – I find the shape really unattactive and downright off-putting.
How DUMB! I didn’t even realize I was sort of replying to my OWN post….I guess because it’s been 2 months!
Well, good to know you still feel the same way, eh? 😉
Will you review the Nars audacious lip palettes? If the formula is truly comparable to the full size lipsticks, I might have to catch them all.
Sorry, I don’t have those!
Gorgeous lipstick shades. I’m most drawn to Sheena. I believe I have dupes for Siouxsie. Nancy is striking though I couldn’t pull off such a dark colour.
I seriously doubt Sheena would have worn coral lipstick, but it’s the one I’m most drawn to for myself in 2018…as opposed to my 70s punk days, when I would have loved the Siouxsie and Nancy shades. Dark shades like that don’t work on my face anymore. 🙁
What kind of color would you have seen her wearing?
It’s an interesting shade because I feel like you could call it peach, dusty rose (which often goes in the coral bucket… almost runs too warm against true pinks), coral… but yeah.
Same as Siouxsie or Nancy. Something very dark or vampy red. After all, “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker”! 😀
Interesting description of the shade. I’m not a big fan of peach shades, but I love dusty rose. Corals work for me sometimes. Sheena looks like it might be ok for me, but I am going to resist.
I agree. This color is very Sheena. I love Siouxsie (the artist) but not big on the shade they named after her. She almost always wore red. But I get it. They have plenty of reds.
Love the names NARS gives their lipsticks. I may have to get this Sheena for family or friends.
Just out of curiosity, how do you see punk rock Sheena as wearing coral lipstick? I’m only asking because to me, coral is possibly the least punk lipstick color I can think of. So I’m interested in hearing other opinions on this. 😀
Sheena is literally calling my name!! This is literally my shade!!! OMG!!
I was really excited for a punk-themed collection, but I’m pretty disappointed in the names of the shades. There are so many women in early punk music worth celebrating, but NARS only went with one, filling in the trio with a non-musician and a fictional character from a song?! Why not Deborah, Poly, Tina, Gaye, Penelope, or so many others? I love the Sheena shade and the shape of the lipstick, but I don’t think I’ll be buying it…I’m a huge Ramones fan, but centering male musicians’ work feels wrong in this context.
NARS should make a color like Sheena permanent!
I knew these would score well for the most part! Also, that I would want all 3…which is crazy. I probably don’t *need* Siouxsie, and yet I do, if that makes any sense? The early Punk era (all of it onward, too) was my coming of age time. Therefore, Francois Nars has effectively hijacked my wallet!
Love Sheena!
Not a fan of the shape – and as Mariella mentioned above, I think it would be too too easy for this one to break in a bit of heat.
The shades are OK, but easily dupable.
Leave it to NARS to create a new lipstick shape. I seriously thought yours arrived misshapen or damaged.
‘Pleats please’ as a lipstick!
Ive got Nancy by accident and havent tested yet but if u apply in mildly can it pull off a nice dark plum colour or will it still be dark as the picture shown. Also can people with a cool yellow tone wear this pink tone plume?
