NARS Savage Blush Review & Swatches

Savage (2020)
NARS Savage (2020) Powder Blush ($30.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium, reddish-brown with warmer undertones and a luminous sheen. The texture was smooth to the touch with light slip–it was creamier than most of the brand’s blushes but still thin and a bit “drier” (not in a bad way), which made it easier to pick up less product if desired as it wasn’t powdery so it was more controllable.
The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, though, so you’ll want to use a light-to-medium hand for buildable coverage. The powder blush applied evenly to bare skin and diffused with minimal effort without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

From NARS’ website, their blush formula is described as “beautifully pigmented” and “soft [and] blendable.” NARS' blushes, since they've been released in such a massive range of shades over the years, can vary from shade to shade to some degree. Most shades are pigmented with firmer, slightly stiffer consistencies that can also run on the thinner side, which allows greater control when picking up product but some of the more matte shades could be a bit more blendable or easier to work with.
Some of the more newly-released shades have softer, more yielding textures that are a bit creamier and are easier to blend out, though most of NARS' blushes are fairly blendable. The wear typically ranges from eight to nine hours with a few shades falling above or below this range.

It will take a lot of discipline to talk myself out of this one. I have warm honey. I have warm honey. I have warm honey. That’s a start! Savage is very nice…. and I’m a pretty big Nars blush nerd.
I’ve fallen for this one! A perfect bronzey blush with a lovely glow to it. Only problem will be choosing between this and something that’s been on my WL ever since I first saw it swatched, Cover FX Warm Honey duo. It will be hard to decide, for sure!
Oooohh.. I just looked this up.. tough call 40 cdn for the NARS and 50 cdn for the Cover FX, but you get two products. A+ review on the Cover FX. Oy.
This one may have to jump into my shopping cart.
This really made me think of Tom Ford Savage immediately- the texture looks less buttery, but the color seems really similar!
This is certainly a lovely blush. I like everything about it so a candidate for later purchase. I am still trying to maintain my low buy and use more from my stock. Plus it is winter up here and it seems foolish to put a full face of makeup on when I am just going to be sitting in the house all day, unless I am just playing around with makeup that day. This has the added advantage of not having a truly disgusting name, as the Nars brand sometimes falls victim to. For some reason, whenever I read the name I hear Johnny Dep saying, “Savauge” in my head. Weird.
This is really lovely and I don’t have a comparable color in my collection.
A beauty bronzey shade that would appeal to many. I think this is going to be a popular one.
I picked this up on Friday, but have yet to try it. I’m glad it received a good review.
I’ve tried this one at the store a few times, each time I walked away because I think it looks too “dirty” on me; but maybe application is the key. I have a tan olive complexion, so maybe it’s a good option for summer.
