Dominate

NARS Dominate Powder Blush ($30.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium-dark red with moderate, warm copper undertones and a metallic sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, soft consistency that was slightly dry to the touch, but it didn’t have powderiness in the pan. The powder applied evenly and blended out well along the edges, but it seemed to emphasize my skin’s natural texture slightly. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

$30.00/0.16 oz. - $187.50 Per Ounce

From NARS’ website, their blush formula is described as “beautifully pigmented” and “soft [and] blendable.” NARS' blushes, since they've been released in such a massive range of shades over the years, can vary from shade to shade to some degree. Most shades are pigmented with firmer, slightly stiffer consistencies that can also run on the thinner side, which allows greater control when picking up product but some of the more matte shades could be a bit more blendable or easier to work with.

Some of the more newly-released shades have softer, more yielding textures that are a bit creamier and are easier to blend out, though most of NARS' blushes are fairly blendable. The wear typically ranges from eight to nine hours with a few shades falling above or below this range.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Knew I’d love it. Need to check Lorac Rose…I think it was LE with Pirates, and I did not haul. Ought to check all dupes for EL Enduring Rose, was it? We may not have total recall for our stashes, but we know how to check that. Thanks. You are our outside hard drive, lol.

Oh, it’s Alluring Rose, and it is far more a dupe to the Lorac than the Nars. In, but probably not until spring sale. I suppose if I went by need, rather than want, I would not be here devouring every word.

This one looks interesting. I was unable to wear Clinique Plum Pop because it appeared to have a white base on my cool toned skin, so this one may end up working better. That assumes this isn’t too copper (orange) toned.
