Makeup Geek Head Over Heels Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “light bubblegum pink with slight shimmer.” It’s a light-medium, cotton candy pink with bluish undertones and a pearly shimmer. In the pan, it looked almost warm-toned, but applied, it looks cooler-toned. MAC Young at Heart (LE, $20.00) is darker, brighter. Make Up For Ever #210 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is a cream product. Givenchy It-Girl Purple (P, $44.00) is less shimmery. Tarte Dollface (P, $26.00) is a touch darker. MAC Pure Femininity (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery. theBalm Down Boy (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned, more matte. MAC Well Dressed (P, $21.00) is a touch lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It had excellent color payoff; you could achieve rich, true-to-pan color with one layer of product, but it blends beautifully on the skin, so it is easy to sheer or soften the color. The blush’s texture is soft, silky, and smooth, which helped it apply easily to the skin and looks more and more luminous as it is buffed into the skin. This is one of the more shimmery shades in the range, but the shimmer didn’t emphasize pores–it’s more of a shimmer-sheen than a frosted shimmer finish. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours before I noticed some fading along the outer edge.

I think this shade is so pretty and feminine. Maybe I will buy it…but before deciding it, I will wait for the other reviews from de same collection.

no u didnt get a dud. that blush is horrible. it has no pigmentation. i dont know why it has a cult following. i had to give mine away bc it was so horrible. i find the quality of mac blushes are also inconsistent. the same color might have better or poor quality in different batches. i got melba twice. the first time it was so smooth and pigmented and the second time it barely had any pigmentation.

I agree about the inconsistencies with the blushes! For my birthday two years back, I got 6 at once to fill a whole palette. Well Dressed and Breezy…especially Breezy…were such duds but the rest were lovely! I had swatched all of them in the store previously to make sure they preformed well, too, before ordering online 🙁

Hmm, the colours of the blushes you’ve been reviewing this week are certainly pretty its just that they are waaay too light for my skin tone: The villagers will be bringing out their garlands of garlic and wooden stakes if I were to wear these blushes out in public!!

This is such an interesting blush… I wonder what it looks like on fellow vampires – It looks like it has so much white in the base, but then on an already paper-white skintone, it probably looks super pink, LOL! After all, I have Dollface (well, a sample of it), and that blush isn’t as brightening as this one)

Is it just me, or is the two-blush look actually really cute? I think you look great with two on at once!
