Beach Bunny
Makeup Geek Beach Bunny Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is a muted, peachy-brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. While it had rich color payoff, the lipstick did not apply well at all! The lipstick pulled away near lip lines, sank into them, and there was a grainy quality to the texture that translated onto the lips. The texture seemed velvety, not too thick or too thin, and spread easily across the lips, but there was just something amiss. This shade lasted for three hours before it had separated and turned patchy. The formula did not seem drying while on, but after wearing this shade and the next one back-to-back, my lips felt raw.
The formula is supposed to be a “cross between a cream and a mousse” that is “highly pigmented” with a “soft matte” finish. The consistency has an incredibly velvety, creamy feel without being slippery or wet, so it felt very smooth going on the lips and lightweight. I liked the way it felt on the lips for an hour or so of wear, but after testing about half of the range, they did not wear down well with an uneven fade and significant color in lip lines. While traditional liquid lipstick can dry and look “cracked,” I noticed that despite feeling quite forgiving, the finish often was not as lip color settled into and separated away from lip lines. The formula wasn’t designed to dry down to a flat, matte finish, and it does not, so the transfer was similar to that of a traditional, satin-finished tube lipstick for me. On me, the liquid lipsticks have lasted between four and six hours on me. They seem mostly non-drying on but seemed more drying as I wore them, particularly if I wore two in a row, which would leave my lips feeling raw. Just a heads up, each tube contains a surprisingly small amount of product (0.06 fl. oz.) relative to a lot of popular liquid lipstick formulas (Kat Von D contains 0.22 fl. oz., Anastasia contains 0.11 fl. oz., Smashbox contains 0.13 fl. oz., Stila contains 0.10 fl. oz., MAC contains 0.17 fl. oz.).

Soccer Mom
Makeup Geek Soccer Mom Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is a dusty, muted coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not apply evenly at all, and the color looked “cracked” where my lip lines were emphasized. There was also some streakiness as the texture seemed to have a little more slip than other shades. It did feel very smooth going on, but it just did not look the way it felt. On me, the color wore for three hours before it had moved around so much that the end result was patchy, lined, and uneven. As I mentioned in my prior review, it did not seem drying while I had it on, but as soon as I removed it, my lips felt very dry, like I had rubbed them raw (but this formula is easy to remove, so I did not have to rub my lips raw to remove!).

Goodie-Two-Shoes
Makeup Geek Goodie-Two-Shoes Plush Lip Matte ($12.00 for 0.06 fl. oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that covered the lips with even, smooth color. The consistency was lightweight, velvety and creamy, and only pulled into lip lines a little bit. This shade lasted for four hours, left a pink stain behind, and didn’t feel drying while worn, though my lips did not feel good shortly after removing it either.

Oh no, why did Beach Bunny have to be so gritty and apply so badly 🙁 Was such a nice color.
I know! 🙁
Per ounce it’s more expensive than Kat von D so there’s no way I would try these given the poor quality.
I don’t mind if they are more expensive per ounce, since you are spending around $8 less per shade, but the formula still should be good! It is also less enticing when there are other budget-friendly liquid lipsticks out there that are a better value, too!
Beach Bunny is such a nice colour – too bad it didn’t swatch as well! All the more reason to splurge on MAC’s Sweet Thing now!
The only one I actually loved the color of has 2 (or 3 ?) strikes against it: 1.) horrible quality, 2.) cringe worthy name, Soccer Mom (with???) and again, 3.) has some sort of lip stripping ingredient in it, I believe.
I do hope Marlena fixes whatever it is that is making these grainy and a horror once one takes it off. Something is definitely wrong with these!
Yawn!
Goodie Two Shoes is cute but dupeable for sure.
