Warm Beige (103)

Make Up For Ever Warm Beige (103) Artist Liquid MatteMake Up For Ever Warm Beige (103) Artist Liquid Matte ($20.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark peachy brown with a hint of rose paired with a matte finish. The consistency was a touch thicker, easier to control than other shades in the same formula, but it took longer to dry down and didn’t fully self-level so there was visible streaking. The color “cracked” slightly when I smiled at my deeper lip lines. It had opaque color coverage that lasted for a solid six hours on me before fading noticeably but was not drying.

The Artist Liquid Matte formula is supposed to have “intense color” with an “ultra-matte finish” that is “long-lasting” and leaves lips feeling “soft, nourished.” In general, the formula is quite pigmented with a smooth, thin texture that still had substance to it (but felt looser, like it was almost too easily spread across the lips) as it covered the lips well and didn’t streak. The dry down time was average, and I felt like I could maneuver and perfect the edges without fear of it drying down on me. The formula dried down to a flat, matte finish that didn’t transfer and did not appear “cracked.” The wear varied from five to eight hours on me, and the formula felt slightly drying to non-drying. There was a heavy, floral scent, though–more detectable than the one in their regular lipstick range. While the tube did not seem unusually small, thin, or short, it contained a lot less product than is standard for liquid lipsticks.

Praline (109)

Make Up For Ever Praline (109) Artist Liquid MatteMake Up For Ever Praline (109) Artist Liquid Matte ($20.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, thin but not watery consistency that applied the color evenly across the lips. It dried down fast enough not to be awkwardly sitting there with my mouth hanging open but I had time to maneuver along the edges and smooth the color out. The color wore well for eight hours on me before fading, though it was slightly drying after five hours of wear.

But of course, I love Praline! Yep, I own and probably use far more often than I think, CP Barracuda and CiatΓ© Pin-Up! What can I say, I must be a creature of habit, LoL ?
Warm Beige looks awfully nice, too. Don’t see any dupes that I may own….hmmm.

Praline is pretty, but I will be skipping this entire range. I don’t like the heavy floral scent in some of the their lippies. Why MUFE, why?

I like Praline a lot. But after having tried the glosses from By Terry I must admit I’m not a fan of floral scents on my lips. My lips generally gets very dry, using liquid mattes, so I think I’ll skip these.
Now I’m going to check Praline dupes πŸ™‚
