Indimenticabile

MAC Indimenticabile Lipgloss Trio ($22.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains a coral-red, pink-red, and dark plum gloss housed in a small compact. Some love lip products in pans while others find they are more work than they’re worth, but I think the quality of the glosses was nice enough assuming tackiness is not a deal-breaker!

Velvet Me

Velvet Me is a medium, coral-red with warm undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which spread evenly across my lips and did not sink into my lip lines. The texture was thinner and not quite as mirror-like in shine as typical Lipglass, and that seemed to make the gloss look more like a lip stain than a true gloss. The color stayed on well for four and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing.

Formula Overview

$21.00/0.1 oz. - $210.00 Per Ounce

The Lipglass formula is supposed to be “pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color” that can be worn “on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick” and will “condition lips.” MAC could use an update on the description as some shades are more pigmented than others but several are sheerer and likely intended to be that way. The formula has a very glossy, high-shine finish with a light-medium weight and moderate tackiness.

I have found that newer Lipglasses (over the last couple of years) are smoother and not quite as tacky as the formula was many years ago. They wear from three to six hours on me and are usually lightly hydrating. MAC recently updated the shade range and packaging for the range (though the formula was said to be unchanged), so worth noting is that with that packaging change came a reduction in quantity to 0.10 fl. oz. (was 0.17 fl. oz.), which may matter for some but not everyone.

Soft Dream

Soft Dream is a medium-dark, pinky red with cool, blue undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly on the lips and was easy to apply whether I used my fingertips or a lip brush with the latter giving better precision along the edges. The texture was somewhat stickky, but it felt thinner than typical Lipglass, though it was also less shiny. On me, it wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating.

Plum Bite

Plum Bite is a medium-dark plum with subtle, cool undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had medium coverage that went on fairly evenly, though I felt like it darkened my lip lines noticeably–it just barely filled them as I did not feel it was particularly noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The formula was lightweight, moderately tacky, but fairly easy to apply with a fingertip or lip brush. The color lasted for four hours on me and was non-drying.

Pretty colors and the price is right. I find lip palettes are great for caring in my purse for lipstick touch ups. I have three that I love . I’d been eyeing the Anastasia lip palette for a while but didn’t want to pay $48 dollars. Thanks to Temptalia I saw it’s on sale for half price and quickly ordered it. So I’m set for lip palettes. But this one is nice!

This may be a question for Kind of Stephen. Mind you, never tried a lipglass. But how does a product that is sufficiently liquid to come out of a tube on a doefoot, get poured in a pan and stay there? Clearly, they harden it somehow. But then, is it really a lipglass, or an allied product that gives a similar finish? Readers, elucidate, please. Also, please excuse where my mind goes. I have a couple of MAC lip palettes that are decent, but suffer from neglect, a VG one and a red one. My color preferences and tangential questions are becoming pretty ingrained. Sorry.

i actually like these a lot, the come across more of a lipstick/gloss hybrid than a gloss though. I might check this out because i dig the colours and finish
