Pretty Please
MAC Pretty Please Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a pale, light pink with an icier base and warmer golden pearl. It had sheer color payoff, which was not buildable but was more in line with the Lustre finish (always sheerer). The texture was emollient going on but felt thin and was prone to getting into my lip lines. It wore well for two hours on me and was slightly drying.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

The Right Note
MAC The Right Note Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, peachy brown with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that covered the lips evenly and smoothly with just a smidgen of color getting into my deepest lip line. The consistency was lightweight, emollient without being too slippery as there was a bit of tackiness to the finish. This shade wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing.

Stripped
MAC Stripped Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium peach with warm, beige undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation, but the color could have applied more evenly, while the texture could have sat better on the lips–it was prone to getting into my pesky lip lines. On me, the lipstick stayed on well for four and a half hours but was a touch drying.

The Right Note is nice, will probably get it today. Glad it is not matte finish.
Oh boy, this trio just fell pretty flat compared to the others. Stripped has that ‘concealer lips’ thing going on. Not just on your page, but YT’ers reviewing it don’t particularly like it either.
Pretty Please is *alright*, I suppose, but too sheer for me.
The one that stood out to me was The Right Note. That is a lovely shade of nude for your complexion and those within your range, Christine. Too light for me though, I believe.
Please explain to me how to know when a color will look chalky, for lack of a better word, like the last example. These colors with that base never look good on me. The first two would look great although performance issuers might not be what I’m looking for. This is a huge issue for me whenever I try to buy lighter colors. Looking st the tube gives me no clue. Thank you.
Hey Susan,
A lot of times there will be a more powdery look – it could be drier or could have a whiter base (think flour, as in the baking ingredient)!
Not feeling these ones for myself.
