MAC Speak Louder Cremesheen Lipstick

MAC Speak Louder Cremesheen Lipstick ($14.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “clean poppy blue pink.” It’s a vibrant medium-dark pink-red with a subtle blue undertone and a soft, natural sheen. MAC Impassioned is much more vibrant, more coral. MAC Party Parrot is much more coral. MAC Moxie is darker, more intense. MAC Full Fuchsia is more vibrant, brighter.  Against my skin tone, it doesn’t read as cool-toned as it is in the tube.

It has mostly opaque color coverage, and it’s one of the creamier Cremesheens I’ve used. It glides on better than others within the finish, though it’s not as creamy as an Amplified finish. What’s interesting about this color is that it’s the more muted sister of a lot of the really vibrant, nearly-neon shades that have become immensely popular/sold out. I wouldn’t described it as muted generally, though, as it is fairly bright on the face.  Speak Louder wore for a solid five hours when I tested it.

I’m not a huge fan of the Cremesheen finish–it’s a bit drying (some shades more so than others).  I’d also love a slightly creamier consistency so that it would really glide easily and evenly across the lips.  Speak Louder wasn’t drying but neither was it moisturizing.  It is vanilla-scented but has no discernible taste (same scent as other MAC lipsticks and lip products).

I love love Temptalia much much more when I find reviews on the permanent range from MAC, especially the lipsticks! Thanks a lot 🙂

i know what you mean about the cremesheen finish, i bought creme cup, & quite hard to apply, i thought it would be very soft and creamy? this one is a fabulous colour though!

Looks beautiful on you, Christine!  I know you aren’t a huge Cremesheen fan, but I love most of the colors.  I have one and I totally agree about it being the muted sister of the neons.  It’s totally work appropriate if you’re looking to change it up and do something a wee bit brighter for spring.   When I wear it, I often also use it like a cream blush to get a beautiful pink glow.   Love this lipstick!

I love this pink, it’s gorgeous! My kind of “bright”; I think it’s just de-saturated enough that I’d get more wear out of it than a truly in-your-face bright pink.

This is one of my favorite lipsticks, and so underrated I feel! I went to MAC about 6 months ago with the intention of buying Impassioned, but it was out of stock. I picked this one up and I haven’t looked back since. It’s bright without being overwhelming. I’m a really pale skinned girl and I love a good bright lip but sometimes I want it just a tad toned down. This is perfect for me. 😀

It’s kind of a bummer that MAC is the dominant product on your site when there are so many (better) lines out on the market.

For some reason I find the cremesheen finish very sticky and hence difficult to apply. It always seems to tug on my lips. Creme Cup is especially bad!

This looks really pretty!  I would give it a try through B2M if Cremesheen is a little drying.  Thank you for posting the other makeup you’re wearing.  I love the eye shadow combo you have herer.

With MAC launching–literally–40 to 50 collections per year, which is about 10x more than most brands (which launch 4-5 per year), there’s no way for them not to. By sheer launches alone, they completely out-produce every other brand on the market. I can’t think of any brand who churns out as many products.
