MAC Ultimate Lipstick ($23.00 for 0.15 oz.) will hopefully make its grand debut (finally!) on December 1st–fingers crossed! There’s not too much information on them, but the price point, name, and packaging make them seem like they should be similar to the lipsitcks Marcel Wanders collection (some of the shades in this collection were launched previously). The formula is new and permanent. From what I’ve experienced, the majority of the shades have good color payoff with lightweight, creamy textures that go on easily with a fair amount of slip but don’t slide around too much (a few are wetter). I get light hydration with most shades and four to six hour wear. They are vanilla-scented like MAC’s other lip products.

The price is noticeably higher than the standard MAC lipstick, though only a dollar more than the Mineralize Rich Lipstick formula. Worth noting, however, is that these are 50% larger than the standard MAC lipstick. The standard MAC lipstick is $160/oz., while the Ultimate lipstick is $153.33/oz. Of course, if you rarely get through half of a lipstick, then paying less will probably make you better off.

Soft Pout is described as a “sheer pink peach with white pearl.” It’s a semi-opaque, medium peach with beige and warm undertones and a luminous finish. The texture has enough slip in it that it doesn’t apply evenly, though it feels creamy and comfortable to wear. The wear time is shorter than other shades at three hours (but it doesn’t feel like it disappears!) and was lightly hydrating. Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey (P, $32.00) is brighter. Givenchy Beige Caraco (107) (P, $36.00) is similar. Too Faced Melted Nude (P, $21.00) is more matte. MAC Sensual Sparks (LE, $16.00) is yellower. Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Naked 2 (P, $22.00) is similar. NARS Biscayne Park (P, $25.00) is similar. MAC Delectable (LE, $16.00) is darker. MAC Wholesome (LE, $16.00) is similar. MAC Cozy Up (LE, $16.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

To Savour is described as a “light cool pink.” It’s a pale, light pink with cool undertones and a muted, almost gray-like overcast. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a creamy, emollient texture. It didn’t apply evenly and tended to look streaky applied, unfortunately. The color lasted for three and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time. MAC A Novel Romance (LE, $16.00) is brighter. MAC Dress to Impress (LE, $16.00) is lighter. MAC Ladies Who Lunch (LE, $22.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Be Fabulous (P, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Rose Lily (LE, $16.00) is brighter. NARS Stourhead (LE, $25.00) is more matte. MAC Dreaminess (P, $22.00) is very similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Marque is described as a “soft light neutral pink.” It’s a muted, medium-dark rosy beige with warm undertones and light, gold shimmer. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that covered the lips evenly. It was lightly hydrating and lasted for four hours on me. Too Faced Shimmering Spice Spice Baby (LE, $22.00) is darker. Bobbi Brown Pink Nectar (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. Guerlain Gems (LE, $51.00) is warmer, more glossier. MAC Morning Rose (LE, $16.00) is pinker. Urban Decay Lovelight (P, $22.00) is sheerer. Guerlain Garance (P, $51.00) is less shimmery. Guerlain Cherry Blossom (P, $35.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Femme-de-Luxe is described as a “bright pink.” It’s a vibrant, light-medium fuchsia-pink with cool, blue undertones and a soft shine. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on fairly evenly. It had less sheen compared to several other shades in the range. This one lasted well for four hours on me and was lightly moisturizing. NARS Claudia (P, $32.00) is lighter, less shimmery. MAC Boutique Pink (LE, $22.00) is similar. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pop-arazzi (606) (P, $28.00) is more matte. MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is similar. Givenchy Rose Perfecto (209) (P, $36.00) is darker. Sephora Collection Cougar (P, $12.50) is less shimmery. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is brighter. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is more muted, darker. MAC Playtime (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Marque is lovely! Definitely the best of this bunch, although I do have to give props to MAC for once for not making their white-based shades as chalky/lipliney as usual (which you would hope for with a ‘HE’ line). I actually really like the ‘antique chair leg’ packaging, and it’s certainly a step up from their usual ‘tampon’ one, LOL!

Ooh, that gold shimmer in Marque is to die for! I feel like I must have a bunch of dupes for it already, but I don’t have any of the ones listed, so that must mean I have to get it!

Hello Beautiful Christine! May I please ask if you’ve, (or anybody else), found something that both in texture and performance, color as well as effect, looks just like the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Glow? I wanted that as soon as I found it would be in the USA, but couldn’t justify the $65, and I’m not a bronzer or majorly into sculpting, and I did get that MAC Rocky Horror Contour thing.. Yet I don’t feel like, and highly doubt, many similarities existing. 🙁 From all I’ve read, the CT one is just amazing on everybody and works like magic! 😀 I love products that make less steps and add beauty more easily! 😀 Thank you all so much!
