MAC Simply Swinging Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “grey lilac.” It’s a muted, light-medium lavender purple with neutral-to-warm undertones and a cream finish. The consistency was slightly thick, and it didn’t level out as much as it could have, so some areas looked thicker and more opaque than others. It had a really nice high-shine finish, though. After two coats, it had mostly opaque coverage. I typically get a week of wear out of MAC’s polish. Cult Nails Let's Get Dirty (P, $12.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Rescue Beauty Lounge Forgiveness (LE, $20.00) is cooler (85% similar). Essie Warm & Toasty Turtleneck (P, $8.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Formula X Perfection (P, $14.00) is darker (85% similar). Zoya Normani (P, $9.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Zoya Jana (P, $9.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). MAC Blog This Studio Nail Lacquer ($12.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep purple plum.” It’s a blackened purpled berry with cool undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque coverage, but it tended to be quite streaky on the initial coat and was mostly covered by the second coat, though not entirely so it may require a third coat or good base coat. The consistency ran thin but didn’t pool along the edges. I typically get a week of wear out of MAC’s polish. MAC Gadabout Girl (LE, $16.00) is warmer (95% similar). Dior Smoky (990) (LE, $27.00) is cooler (95% similar). China Glaze Urban Night (LE, $7.50) is lighter (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Both are pretty and these are not a bad price. You get good wear out off all polish so hard to judge . I may pick up Simply Swinging just to check out a Mac polish. But, I just unexpectedly ordered a bunch of Jamberry polish at a party over the weekend so maybe not.:)

The 2 I just bought from JINSoon (Auspicious and Risque) are dupes to these and I believe they are better quality, albeit more expensive at $18 (although this weekend they were 20% off on the website). I do love some of my MAC polishes but JINSoon seems to have less problems with opaqueness on first coat and consistency of formula. Additionally JINSoon is quick dry and your first nail is just about dry when you finish #10.

These two shades are right up my alley for autumn and winter, or October-late March! Strangely, Blog This actually looks black, I’m straining to see any plum or purple, but I do love it anyhow. Simply Swinging looks like a polish I had many, many years ago by Revlon, forgot its name though, so I may need this one!

I love the shades of both, but my past experience with MAC polishes has not been good… Granted it’s been quite a while since I’vetried one, but my nails just seemed to repel them like water on a duck’s back!
