MAC Shimmy Peach Hyper Real Glow Palette Review & Swatches
Shimmy Peach
MAC Shimmy Peach Hyper Real Glow Palette ($39.50 for 0.45 oz.) is a new trio of highlighters in warm tones–all more orange-leaning than is typical–across a copper, soft orange, and deeper gold. All three shades had good pigmentation, eight-hour or longer wear, and were blendable, though Paradise (left shade) was a bit more firmly-pressed in the pan than ideal.
This trio launches February 4th!

Paradise
Paradise is a light-medium copper with warm, golden shimmer and a metallic sheen. The highlighter had rich, opaque pigmentation, but the consistency was denser and a little thicker in the pan, so while it blended out well on my skin, I had some trouble picking up product with highlighting brushes and would have to build up color. I had to use a heavier hand and more of a blush brush to get higher coverage in one layer. Those who fear overdoing it will likely find this easier to work with as a result! On me, the highlighter blended out nicely, didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture, and stayed on well for eight and a half hours.

Shimmy Peach
Shimmy Peach is a light, peachy orange with warm undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and yielding enough that my typical arsenal of brushes picked up product without an issue but there was no excess product kicked up in the pan. It applied evenly to my cheeks and blended out seamlessly. This shade lasted well for eight hours before it started to fade noticeably.

Glow, Baby, Glow
Glow, Baby, Glow is a medium gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that was denser and slightly firmer, though I didn’t have any trouble using a tapered highlighting brush to pick up and apply color to my cheeks. It had a smooth, luminous sheen that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

Loving these warmed tones highlighters, will probably get this peachy set when released.
Paradise may not be the easiest to work with, but I love the way it has a “rosier” base to it that makes it look like a bronzing blush!
Shimmy Peach is also an absolutely lovely shade! Thankfully not quite as yellow-orange as Becca Dreamsicle, either.
I’ve been happy seeing Temptalia videos!
That’s nice to hear 🙂 Let me know if there are tweaks to the format (that aren’t “get on camera and shoot a real video,” LOL!) that would make it more useful.
The pros and cons list should just get a slide of their own and not overlap the product pic and swatches. Otherwise, a cool feature.
Could you give me insight into why you feel that way? Thank you! It would be helpful for me to understand what drives that (so I can also apply that to future renditions if applicable).
I love the video component!
Thank you, Pearl!
Hmm – the three shades look fairly similar and I love the peachy tones, but not the orangey undertone. Le sigh!
Video is awesome!
Happy to hear it, Linda!
I wish these were singles: Shimmy Peach would be on my buy list. The other two shades are gorgeous, but Paradise would be way too dark for me, and Glow, Baby, Glow probably is too dark.
One peach, a gold, and a bronze. I’m disappointed in that. I thought it would be 3 peach shades. I would have bought that. Thanks for the review.
Good-looking trio of non-glittery highlighters. Of course, I have these shades many times over, but it’s still nice to see non-glittery highlighters being released.
