MAC Ripe for Love Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Ripe for Love Blush

MAC Ripe for Love Blush ($23.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone peach [with a satin finish].” It’s a medium coral-orange with a satiny sheen and warm undertones. Aveda Hibiscus is slightly pinker, less shimmery. MAC Stereo Rose is more frosted, slightly lighter. bareMinerals The Natural High is pinker. Tom Ford Lovelust is less orange, more shimmery. MAC Ripe Peach is very similar but can appear lighter/pinker (depending on where you concentrate your brush).  MAC Marine Life is similar but can turn redder (less orange), depending on how you apply it.

The more you blend the blush out, the more the satiny sheen transforms into a glow. It had a soft, finely-milled texture that applied smoothly and evenly. The texture made it easy to blend on the skin. Ripe for Love had good, buildable color; true-to-pan payoff but easy to sheer out or build up in layers for just the right intensity that you desire at any given moment. When I wore it yesterday, it lasted seven and a half hours well, and it was marginally faded after eight hours–it wasn’t too noticeable under eight and a half hours.

When I saw this sneak peak, I thought this looked completely like TF Lovelust dupe. Lovelust is a really stunning blush which I reach for often and I think this would make a more reachable alternative.

I think this color should be pretty similar to MAC Supercontinental Blush? Maybe Supercontinental is lighter and pinker, but applied on cheeks I suspect them to be difficult to distinguish 😉 .

How do you think this compares to Nars Orgasm? Orgasm does not work on me and I just have a suspicion this blush leans as red as it does. Also I love your blog!!! 🙂

This looks lovely! Christine, any idea on why it’s $23 instead of $21? Is that just MAC slowly charging more and more? I’d love to get it, but I’m afraid I’ll eventually be paying $30 for their blushes!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for reviewing the warmer colors first! I was so curious about the warmer eye shadow quad and this blush. Will this work for NC42? I didn’t expect to see your review for this collection so soon–what a nice surprise!!!!!!!

I’m an nc42 in mac and ripe for love shows up on me really well! In fact, I have to apply it sparingly because it is so pigmented. Hope this helps! 🙂

I was excited for this blush when I saw your preview and it looks more lovely with the review! And the new website layout is excellent, Christine. Very easy to use!

I’m so happy that you gave this one such a great review. I have this on my wishlist, and I honestly can’t wait to get it. It looks like its going to be the perfect shade for the summer time!

Thanks for your amazing reviews as always Christine! I have been really looking forward to Ripe for Love, but am thinking that it looks quite similar to Mac Supercontinental. Perhaps it has a bit more pink? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Christine, how do you think this compares to MAC Hipness? Thanks! Also a little late, but a HUGE thank you for the heads up on NYC Eyelash Curler in the beauty awards… I have tried other more expensive tools & with 1 I even lost a clump of lashes.. I was HORRIFIED.. I love this.. it works great, great price point & not a lash as been lost! Thank you for honest reliable reviews!

Would you consider this blush more of a true coral versus Guerlain Peach Boy Blush Duo? I am trying to decide which one to purchase, I am looking for a coral color that is bright with a pop and wasn’t sure which one would be better. Thanks. P.S. The site is looking great, love all of our site revamping!

Wow that is super pigmented! Glad to hear is sheers out easily as well. This would look AMAZING on summer-tanned skin! I’ve been wanting to add a few more orangey blushes to my collection since buying Frivole and loving it! I haven’t been brave enough to get a true orange yet but this coral-orange is just right! 😀

What’s this like compared to blushes like Supercontinental and Cream Soda? Just more orange? (Do I really need another peachy blush… probably)

Love this blush color, this is definitley on my list to get!:-) Christine does it look like My Paradise from the surf baby collection? Thank you for all the swatches and reviews! 🙂

I bought this today! It’s much pinker than I thought it would be in person — but I love it! It’s my first MAC blush, and I’m loving the satin finish. I swatched the dark pink one, too, while I was there. Holy mama, that pigment packs some punch!
