MAC Hot Nights Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Hot Nights Blush
MAC Hot Nights Blush

MAC Hot Nights Blush ($23.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone berry pink [with a frost finish].” It’s a bright, bold raspberry pink with a satiny sheen (not very frosted at all). MAC Prom Princess is lighter. NARS Mata Hari is bit lighter, less cool-toned. Tom Ford Narcissist is much brighter and bolder, more magenta. MAC Supernova is very similar. Tom Ford Wicked is lighter, more shimmery. MAC Amazon Princess is also similar.

Hot Nights is very intense–it has amazingly rich color payoff!  In a blush, this is excellent news for deeper skin tones, while it can be taken with less enthusiasm from those with very fair complexions.  For fairer complexions, I recommend using a very light hand, a soft brush, preferably a stippling one.  I applied this using MAC’s fan brush (184), and it was still quite intense even on my medium skin tone. Though rich in color, the texture itself was slightly dry, and I felt like trying to blend such a pigmented blush on my cheeks took a lot of doing. I ended up blending more foundation along the edges to soften them!  Hot Nights wore for eight hours well, and after nine hours, it was beginning to fade.

Hi, Christine–do you know how this shade compares to MAC Dollymix? Also, I love the look of the site, but I’m on firefox and shortcut gestures no longer work for opening a link in a new tab on your site. Is there any way to fix this? That’s how I scroll down the page and open tabs for all of the products or reviews I’m interested in or all of the dupe links I want to see and compare at once. Thanks!

Durn it! I’ve been looking for a blush this color, but I’m still boycotting MAC!
I’ll stay strong, though – I’m sure I can find a similar color from a non-animal-testing company.
Suggestions, anyone?

Wow, I want this so bad, but it’s probably just TOO intense for being NW15, huh? I’ll look like a clown most likely, even with a soft hand…what do you think? Thanks Christine, looks great on you! And I really like your eyebrows today.

Both blushers from this collection arrived today and they are perfect. Thanks Christine – you were right to be light handed with them – both had great colour payoff and really suited my light indian (medium olive) skin tone.

I love these raspberry colored blushes. I just wish I could find one around this price or cheaper that is effortless to blend and easy to get (the exact opposite of dealing with MAC’s LE game).

/wants Wicked but refuses to pay that much/

Thanks Christine, if Supernova is similar I’ll skip. It’s very bright, perfect for summer though but I have Supernova 🙂 I love the packaging, Temperature Rising is such a great collection.

Hi Christine,

Congrats (albeit late) on your marriage!

Can you please tell me how this compares to NARS Boys Don’t Cry?

Thank you!

How does it compare to Macs Briar Rose, from the villains collection, I’m hitting pan and the Archie’s one was a tad lighter. 🙁

MAC’s Stubborn Pro Longwear Blush is an exact dupe minus the shimmer. I checked that with a sales person in the store last night 🙂

so last time I didn’t listen to Christine I bought Mac Magenta and it was impossible to blend! So, MonibackinCali is passing on this one as Christine mentioned this one is also hard to blend.

I will admire it from afar. Everyone else, please enjoy.
