MAC Rhubarb Blush

MAC Rhubarb Blush ($17.00 for 0.21 oz. pan-only) is described as a “bright magenta [with a Satin finish].” It’s a bright, raspberry pink with cool, blue undertones and satin finish. MAC Pink Desire (LE, $24.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Let's Be Friends (LE, $24.00) is lighter (90% similar). Make Up For Ever B218 (P, $23.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Anastasia Basically (PiP, ) is lighter (90% similar). By Terry Tropical Sunset #3 (LE, ) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). Clinique Berry Pop (03) (P, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Rosy Does It (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter, more muted (85% similar). Colour Pop Seed U Later (P, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). NARS Coeur Battant (P, $30.00) is cooler (90% similar). Makeup Geek Rendezvous (P, $10.00) is lighter, more muted, warmer (80% similar). MAC’s Powder Blush formula is supposed to be easy to apply, long-wearing, and have “fantastic colour.” It’s hard to generalize for MAC’s blush formula, because it varies a lot from shade to shade, even within different types of finishes! Some of them are very good, others are so-so, and a few are complete misses. The more frosted/shimmery shades tend to have the softest and smoothest textures and are easier to apply and blend out on the skin, while more satin and matte shades can sometimes be powdery, firm, or stiff, which makes blending more challenging. The wear is typically between six and nine hours but closer to seven to eight hours on average. Rhubarb was richly pigmented with a natural sheen that emphasize pores but kept skin looking natural and skin-like. The texture seemed a bit firmer in the pan, and almost dry, but it blended out fairly well and didn’t require any tricks to apply. This shade stayed on well for nine hours.

Wow, the pigmentation is stunning! It’s a bargain at $ 17, and a dupe for Tom Ford Narcissist. MAC cranks out so many LE collections that it’s easy to forget the gems in their permanent collection

Me thinks this shall be the next MAC blush I get! Even though blue-pinks can give my skin, other than my cheeks, an odd sallow or dull cast, I think this one appears more berry-ish and could perhaps work.

Love the way this looks in you! I have TF Narcissus and hardly wear it. I always feel like it’s too intense. But, I think this post serves as a nudge to give it another try. Thanks!

Any recs for a color like this – but with some shimmer/glitter added?

I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement for my long d/c ‘Pink Pool’ blush from Lancome. (Shimmer Pink Pool, the replacement, came out too light.)
