MAC Red Obsessed Casual Colour Lip & Cheek Colour Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Red Obsessed Casual Colour Lip & Cheek Colour
MAC Red Obsessed Casual Colour Lip & Cheek Colour ($22.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft rose.” It was a light-medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a soft, golden frosted finish and a natural sheen. Maybelline Just Pinched Pink (10) (P, $8.99) is pinker. Hourglass Luminous Flush (P, $35.00) is a powder. Physicians Formula Natural (P, $11.99) is a powder. MAC Keep It Loose (LE, $20.00) is lighter, warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes. Here are some dupes for it as a lip color.
It had semi-sheer, buildable color coverage, though this one was definitely running sheerer overall. It had a glossy sheen that was noticeable on the cheeks, and even when applied to lips, there was still some shine and creaminess to it, which isn’t the norm for the formula. I found it to be drying when I wore it on lips, and it lasted about three hours. It worked better on cheeks, as it was easily blended on the skin and sat well without emphasizing pores. The color wore well for seven hours as a blush.
Just to reiterate, this has 0.08 fl. oz., which is a huge reduction from the 0.43 fl. oz. that came in the clear pot (which I believe last released in April 2014, so it wasn’t that long ago).

This is lovely in your lips! And I am loving the Colour Pop! Ooooo.. I’m Broke. 🙁 Yay for layers! 😀
Laters* not layers.. And Coulour pops on your eyes! Very enticing! }!#%!
Thank you! 🙂
You’re welcome! 😀
Not impressed. It’s so sheer that I can barely see any color on your lips. Not only did MAC drastically reduce the size, it looks like they skimped on the pigments, and have the nerve to charge more ! I hope this product bombs, so MAC gets the message, otherwise, they will be cranking out more products like this.
It’s supposed to be a more buildable product for sure!
Pretty, if someone wanted a really light, natural look. I like the hint of gold in it. It would be a pretty highlighter.
Yeah it’s going to be more highlighter than full-on blush for some skin tones!
I’m not into the Casual Colours at all. They don’t seem to perform well as either a cheek colour or lip colour let alone both. I went through my MAC phase years ago and since branching out to other brands there’s been little that MAC has done that’s made me even remotely interested. 🙁
I like a lot of other cream blushes over this one, though it gives a nice sheen. Since I’m more normal than oily, the wear is decent, thankfully!
I suppose this could work for everyday use but it’s too sheer for me. It’s too bad too because the color looks great in the pan
Maybe the other one would work better for you!
Too bad it’s drying!
Agreed!
Thank you so much for all the time and effort it takes to gather all the information, take photos and deliver a detailed and concise review, along with all the other pertinent info (like the much smaller size & a higher price than before!).
MAC needs to wake up. They’re not the only game in town. 🙂
Have a wondeful holiday! Thanks again. 🙂
My pleasure! 🙂
This and the previous one look great on you. They don’t even look dry unlike some of kat Von D liquid lipsticks. I hope people read the blurb before just looking at the great pics and running off to buy it. Lol! So congrats on making a meh product look good.
This one didn’t look as bad on lips as some of the others have!
Pretty, but I still can’t get over the size reduction, especially for a product with so-so pigmentation.
The reduction is pretty crazy, and I guess they did it when they launched them permanently :/
The color is pretty. But I would have liked it better without the shimmer.
Aww!
I love the color and finish, both on the cheeks and lips (though I wouldn’t wear it on lips). The sheerness and frost definitely appeals to me as a pale person. But I think I’ll be passing because I’ve just spent too much this month!
November/December are just WHOOOOOOSH! for the bank account.
I used this on a client this past weekend and while it is absolutely lovely on, I can’t get past the product reduction… :/
At least it looked good on!
It’s such a shame that these don’t really perform well on lips, because this is such a good colour! and it really lives up to the name of being a ‘casual colour’ that you could just throw on – or it would, if it worked well on the lips, LOL! 😀
If only!
