MAC Polar Fleece & Ruby Princess Grand Illusion Liquid Lipcolours Reviews & Swatches
Polar Fleece
MAC Polar Fleece Grand Illusion Liquid Lipcolour ($21.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a pale pink with subtle, cool undertones and pink and silver pearl. It looked significantly darker applied to my lips, and I triple checked the shade because it was so different… and also ridiculously similar to Party Sparkle, even when worn side-by-side! The consistency was lightweight, more medium in thickness with some tackiness, but the gloss itself felt smooth and spread fairly well across my lips. There was a slight bit of product that gathered in my deeper lip lines, while the color coverage was more semi-sheer than “megawatt.” It wore well for four hours and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.17 oz. - $123.53 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to "wear evenly" with "megawatt colour" and have a "tingly, cooling sensation" that makes lips "fuller." The coverage ranged from shade to shade, though most were fairly pigmented, and some seemed more multidimensional than others (they seemed just shimmery/pearly). Some shades applied evenly while others were more uneven or pulled into lip lines.
The finish had a lot of shine and shimmer, so any unevenness/settling wasn't as apparent in person as it might appear in close-up photos. The consistency was smooth as it applied and developed a lot of tackiness within a minute or so of application, and the tingling lasted noticeably for 20-25 minutes on me. The glosses lasted between four and five hours on me and were comfortable to wear but was mostly non-drying.
They have a sweet, mint scent and subtle tingle and almost seemed to have a slightly sweet taste, but I couldn't tell as I felt like I was breathing in the sweet mint a bit from the scent alone.

Ruby Princess
MAC Ruby Princess Grand Illusion Liquid Lipcolour ($21.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a bright, medium purple with warm undertones and a pearly, metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, light-medium thick consistency that was tacky but comfortable to wear and spread easily across my lips. The gloss helped smooth out my natural lip lines rather than fill them. It lasted nicely for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Ruby Princess is a pretty one! I do have MAC Love You Big Time, and actually use it a lot over purple lipsticks if I want some shine. Ruby Princess is far more complex a shade, however!
You are not the only one who gave Polar Fleece a second glance out of confusion over its deepening! So did MacAh0lic! (not sure if I spelled her YT site name correctly?) Even though I don’t think I could rock this one, I really love how smooth it looks.
I tried both on because I was like, “okay, but why are they the same” and I’d zoom into the photos and see that they were different… in terms of exactly where the product was sitting but the colors were SOOO close!
I guess Polar Fleece lives up to the “Grand Illusion” part of the name.
Ruby Princess is really pretty.
