MAC Out of This Pearl & Summer Chromance Lipglasses Reviews & Swatches
Out of This Pearl
MAC Out of This Pearl Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.1 oz.) has a clear base with flecks of gold and copper sparkle. It was actually described as “clear with gold pearl” (finally!), so the resulting sheer coverage (in the form of shimmer/sparkle) was as expected. The gloss had a smooth, moderately sticky consistency that minimized my lip lines and didn’t settle into them. It lasted well for four hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.1 oz. - $210.00 Per Ounce
The Lipglass formula is supposed to be “pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color” that can be worn “on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick” and will “condition lips.” MAC could use an update on the description as some shades are more pigmented than others but several are sheerer and likely intended to be that way. The formula has a very glossy, high-shine finish with a light-medium weight and moderate tackiness.
I have found that newer Lipglasses (over the last couple of years) are smoother and not quite as tacky as the formula was many years ago. They wear from three to six hours on me and are usually lightly hydrating. MAC recently updated the shade range and packaging for the range (though the formula was said to be unchanged), so worth noting is that with that packaging change came a reduction in quantity to 0.10 fl. oz. (was 0.17 fl. oz.), which may matter for some but not everyone.

Summer Chromance
MAC Summer Chromance Lipglass ($18.50 for 0.1 oz.) is a translucent (seemed clear to me, really) base with smaller and larger particles of copper, gold, and pink shimmer and micro-sparkle that gave it a glossy, sparkling finish.
It had semi-sheer color coverage that applied evenly with good dispersion of the shimmer/sparkle across my lip. The texture was light-medium in thickness with moderate tackiness, but it was quite smoothing of my lip lines. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

Christine, this looks stunning on you! I might pick this up.
I absolutely LOVE Summer Chromance! Just the perfect bronzey topper. However, I was immediately struck by how familiar it looked to my eye. It reminds me enough of PML OpuLUST Gloss in Dreamscape to make me simmer down a little, LOL.
This entire face and eye look is GORGEOUS. Will you be adding it to Editor’s Looks soon (I hope)? If so, thanks in advance!

THANK YOU after the fact, as well! If I ever leave the house again, I’m totally copying this entire thing. Simply lovely!
I love the idea of Summer Chromance, but wish it were that bit more pigmented. As a topper, it would be perfect.
