The Extra Dimension Skinfinishes are for those who like their highlights reflective and metallic rather than subtle and barely-there. With a fan brush, you can tamp down some of the metallic sheen, but I’d recommend looking at another formula if you want something subtle. It had good color payoff with a soft, blendable texture that felt a smidgen dry in the pan, but it didn’t look dry or powdery on the skin. It was almost so metallic that it doesn’t appear to emphasize pores quite as much as you might expect. The highlighter lasted for eight hours on me before fading.

AHHHH I love it! People are insisting it is a dupe for WoG n you said so as well but my question is how do you think it will work with NW45 skin?

I agree! But its nice to not have to sweat this sold out release bc I prefer really light & silver highlighters & dont wear gold. Still waiting for Becca to make a pressed silver-based highlight for fair skin (not opal). (=

My heart is SCREAMING, I’ve been waiting for them to release something similar to Whisper of Gilt since it came out. I cannot wait! Thanks for the review, Christine!

Yes! I’ve been waiting for your review on this since last month. There was talk on Instagram that this a re-release of Whisper of Glit and a MAC rep said it was, but alas, its just a very close dupe in awesome packaging.

I missed Whisper of Gilt the first go round and refuse to pay $250+ for this (Really eBay sellers? Really?) so I’m gonna grab this one. Can’t wait!

Very pretty, but you ain’t fooling around when you mention it being metallic and not subtle!!! And yet I really like it a lot! But I will probably go with Shaft Of Gold instead. Which will be a beautiful JLo toasty bronze on me.

Hi Christine, is MAC Oh, Darling! a dead on dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter in So Hollywood? I looked it up on your swatch comparison but I am not so sure, to me they look exactly the same! Please clarify! thank you. The 10 dollar price difference makes me wanna skip on the MAC one TBH.

When do these come out? I’m getting conflicting information as a friend told me that she preordered this at a Mac store but I just called mine and they said this couldn’t be preordered!

Both of these came out beautifully! Part of me wants both but since I have Whisper of Gilt I guess I can skip this. It’s still so gorgeous though!

Helpful review. I thought from the pics it was like Gilded Honey, and glad you swatched them. Thinking it’s going to be too metallic, especially if you’re not 20. And it’s darker than Champagne Pop and Gilded Honey. Hmm. Thinking this will be a pass. I love Champagne Pop and the fact that it’s not dry, but find GH too metallic. I was so hoping for that Whisper of G dupe. Oh well. They need to make it permanent already or repromote!

They are quite noticeable, aren’t they. Very pretty, but I’m on the subtle side of highlighters.
Lovely on you, I think.

Heart be still!! I’m in love with this beautiful shade. It looks so good on you!! I’m so fair Idk if I can pull this off but I’m going to be in the MAC battle waving my fan brush fighting for one before they fly out of stock at the speed of light lol the visual. But the other one…that Gilded Shaft of Light tho…….?

Hi Christine,
Would you say this is the closest dupe to whisper of gilt? I already own CP and Opal from Becca… so im debating if i should venture into purchasing this. Help! 🙂
