Nuanced

MAC Nuanced Mineralize Skinfinish ($34.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a medium peach with warm, rosy undertones and a metallic sheen. There seemed to be slight, larger sparkles throughout the powder, though it did not read glittery to me, particularly on my cheeks once blended out. The compact was comprised of peachy-gold, peach, soft copper, and darker peach, and I think, at best, you might be able to lean toward a more golden effect if one concentrated on the top half or more coppery, rusty by concentrating on the lower half. The colors were rather harmonious, all warm-toned, and closer together.

The powder as a soft, smooth, and blendable texture that was fairly finely-milled and applied evenly to my skin. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, but I felt like the texture made it easier to apply more or less depending on pressure and tool. It had a noticeable shine but wasn’t metallic enough that it emphasized my skin’s natural texture. On me, the highlighter (well, highlighting blush on my skin tone!) wore well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

$34.00/0.35 oz. - $97.14 Per Ounce

The description has changed over the years--the most current description (as of 4/21/2018) is that it is a "slow-baked, velvety soft, domed face powder with a radiant finish" that can be used to highlight "the high points of the face" or blended "all over for a sheer luminous polish to the skin." The sheerness seems to be more in referenced to the finish than the coverage, as the usage now states to use the product damp for an even stronger sheen.

In general, the Mineralize Skinfinish formula tends to be more metallic to glittery with medium to opaque coverage--it really depends on the shade. The texture of the formula has been refined over the years with current editions being fairly smooth, blendable, and easy to use. The wear has varied from six to eight hours on me with newer shades and variations lasting closer to eight hours on average.

This is really pretty and I like the sheen that it imparts to the skin. It is kind of my favorite type of blush/highlight. It would have been nice to see a little more differentiation in shades but realistically, in this format you would have to work pretty hard to not just swirl your brush in all of the shades so at least they are nicely blended. I wish it wasn’t LE as I would like to have some time to check it out in person but I don’t have a trip to the city planned anytime soon. I will definitely check it out if still available when I do go.

First of all, I have to tell you, this whole look you have going on here is absolutely summertime perfect, Christine! (Why don’t I already own TF Nude Dip yet????)

This is the type of highlighter/bronzer/blush hybrid I was referring to in the question of the day comment! It just makes it so much easier to get a summer-y sunkissed cheek without a ton of different products.

In the review of the Happy Go Rosy blush, I said much the same about the Nude Dip palette – totally gorgeous. Sadly, this baby is now over $100 in Canada (that makes it more than $20 PER shadow!). I love that eye look, though, and am so thankful for the Dupes List, as I’ve multiple dupes of all 4 shades.

This is so, so pretty and I love the nuanced effect too. I think this is one blush that I would test out and buy because I love the tones. As Deborah said above, it would have been better to see a little more difference between the shades, but really I think it’s lovely.

These shades are beautiful though on the lighter side. I add my voice to those wishing the quad had some deeper shades.

Your eye look is beautiful, Christine. Though I have Nude Dip, I don’t often think about it. I’ve dug it out to give it a go tomorrow.

Thank you for your thorough reviews and dupe comparisons! I have Milani’s Rosa Romantica and find it super glittery – it this is even more glittery I will stay away, though I’m tempted to use these quad slices individually, they look super pretty.
