MAC Nocturnals Lipgloss/Pink Set Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Nocturnals Lipgloss/Pink Set
MAC Nocturnals Lipgloss/Pink Set ($32.50 for 4 x 0.08 fl. oz. or 0.32 fl. oz.) contains one Dazzleglass and three Cremesheen Glasses. Both Dazzleglass and Cremesheen Glass a pricey formula, because they don’t contain a lot of product (0.06 oz. and 0.08 oz. respectively), but the holiday kits are an excellent way to snag them for much, much less than they would be individually. The Dazzleglass in the set actually contains 33% more (0.08 oz. compared to 0.06 oz.), so the value of that shade alone is $26.67, while the three Cremesheen Glasses are, essentially, full-sized and are a value of $60. The tubes are slightly wider and shorter than the full-sized versions. All of the shades in this set are repromotes (meaning they’ve been released previously in some capacity).
Dressed to Dazzle is described as a “pink tinted with silver sparkle.” It’s a pale, neutral-cool light pink with lighter pink and pale gold sparkle. On lips, it was semi-sheer and tended to lighten lips and give a milky quality to the color. It did apply fairly evenly and wore for three and a half hours. MAC Demure (LE, $20.00) is similar. Guerlain Rose in Bloom (LE, $32.00) is sheerer. Bobbi Brown Firefly (P, $24.00) is more shimmery. Bobbi Brown Bellini (P, $24.00) is similar. See comparison swatches.
Fashion Scoop is described as a “clear pink.” It’s a pale, light-medium pink with very fine white shimmer. It was semi-sheer when applied, and it had a milky quality that made it slightly uneven at times (especially if you pressed your lips together). It lasted less than two hours. It’s part of the permanent range. Urban Decay Obsessed (P, $19.00) is very similar. NARS International Velvet (LE, $26.00) is a touch cooler-toned. MAC Fashion Fanatic (LE, $20.00) is similar. MAC Fresh Air (LE, $15.00) is similar. Chanel Imaginaire (P, $32.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches.
Petite Indulgence is described as a “bright blue-pink.” It’s a light-medium, cool-toned, blue-based pink cream. It had semi-sheer color coverage, and this shade tended to “bunch” up so it was hard to keep even once applied It wore for just over two hours.. L’Oreal Florid Pink (LE, $7.99) is similar. Edward Bess First Kiss (P, $30.00) is more opaque. MAC Next Fad (P, $19.50) is shimmery. MAC Viva Glam Nicki (LE, $15.00) MAC Petite Indulgence (P, $20.00) is less blue-based, more opaque. MAC Going Casual (LE, $20.00) is slightly cooler-toned/lighter. See comparison swatches.
Colour Saturation is described as a “dark cool wine creme.” It’s a cool-toned, berry-red with a cream finish. It settled slightly into lip lines but yielded semi-opaque color coverage. It’s not an easy color to keep even at all. It lasted three hours on me. Marc Jacobs Beauty Studded Kiss (310) (P, $28.00) is more shimmery, redder. NARS Penny Arcade (LE, $26.00) is similar. MAC Real Posh (LE, $15.00) is shimmery, less red. See comparison swatches.

the first two of these looks pretty much the same.. glad it has some solid colors too.. unlike tatstitints!! 🙂 🙂
Love how that light pink looks on your lips. Alert–think you’re missing a verb in sentence 2.
This is by far my fav set out of the 3. The only problem is 2 of the colors were released in the 2011 holiday sets. I still have them. The 2 cream sheen glasses.. The pink ones. So idk if I’d. Pick this set up this yr. I’m still on the fence about it
Also, Color Saturation was released in the 2012 sets.
Oh i my opinion the pigmentation is poor 🙁 Gonna pass on this one
I agree.
This one doesn’t really do much for me. A couple of the shades seem blah.
I might be the minority in here but I love it! I like milky sheer pink glosses.
i love them too!!! great alone or over lipsticks!! i want all the cremesheen sets bad.
I wish they hadn’t put Colour Saturation in this one – I still have mine from last year! The set as a whole has me written all over it though – maybe I’ll just give Colour Saturation to my sister and keep the rest 😉
I was excited for MACs holiday collection this year but I’m a little disappointed. I expected much more from them. Oh well guess thats a good thing so i can save me some money!
Omg do u have everything from the mac 2013 holiday collection!
