MAC Immortal Flower Blush
MAC Immortal Flower Blush
MAC Immortal Flower Blush ($20.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “bright peach.” This is an interesting color, because it looks like a soft peach in the pan, but it’s much more coral when swatched and applied to cheeks. It was a bit puzzling, in all honesty! The hue reminded me of Tarina Tarantino Feather, which is a little less pink and has a heavier shimmer. theBalm Frat Boy is more intense, but the color, when used lightly, is very comparable.
It has a satin finish, officially, but it’s almost matte. There is certainly a soft sheen to it, but it is incredibly subtle. In certain lighting, you may even think it is a matte finish! This pigmentation in Immortal Flower was not as buildable as it was in Full of Joy. There’s an underlying sheerness to it no matter how much product I applied. I would say the coverage is medium at its most intense, rather than full. MAC seemed to be aiming for a blush that was sheer and buildable, though not necessarily fully opaque.
The texture is soft, just powdery enough to allow for enough product to be picked up by the brush without having to scrape at the pan. I love how it is soft without being powdery yet still blends very easily on the skin. I suspect this is going to be one of the more popular shades out of the six from Tres Cheek, just because it has that subtle coral tint that makes it warm and wearable and perfect for summer. It was impossible to overdo on my skin tone, but it gave a nice, summery glow and flush.
I’ve tested numerous MAC blushes in the past, and overall, they hold up between seven and eight hours. Out of this particular launch, I have only specifically tested Full of Joy (which stayed true to the average) but hope to try a couple more shades. If there are any discrepancies, I’ll be sure to update the review to reflect that.

Beautiful! Thankyou Christine… so glad I hauled this one after seeing your swatches earlier today
Do you think this blush will show up on darker skintones .. NC50 ??
Lightly, possibly, but not a lot!
Hi Christine,
I use NC30 would immortal flower go with it?
Sure.
Immortal Flower looks so orange in the pan shots but rather pink on yo as you described. Sol shift pigments maybe. lol I was interested in the shade in the pan as i have similar pink shades already.
That is interesting! I saw the pictures of the blush in the pan and thought “meh!”, but once I kept scrolling down and saw the swatch pictures, I decided I might actually like it. It’s not the most unique shade in the world-but it’s simple and I like it. Definitely will check it out later today when I’m at the mall!
this flower will forever be immortalised in my makeup stash. GORGEOUS.
The shade is really pretty! It looks really flattering on your skin tone!
Woah- how is it even possible it can look so peach but be so coral? It’s really pretty but I’d much rather it be the true to pan peach.
That looks so pretty! Do you think it will show up well on an NC42?
It should up somewhat on NC42 – it will be softer on you than it is on me, I would expect!
Oh no.. I love it! My poor wallet 🙁 The summer collections are just too beautiful.. as always.. 🙂
It’s so odd that Immortal Flower swatches so differently than it looks in the pan. I own Frat Boy, and it really does remind me of Frat Boy applied lightly – which is good, because otherwise this one would be very tempting for me!
I think I’m going to have to limit myself to this one and only one other blush from this release. Looking forward to the rest of the reviews. 🙂
How is this compared to illamasqua blush in tremble?
Sorry, I don’t believe I have that!
oh, it looks a lot more pink in swatches and on you.
Wow, what a difference between the pan and the swatch… does it compare to Coralista ?
CORALista seems to have more pink in it 🙂
This is such a gorgeous blush! It looks lovely and springy on you. I’ve been waiting for a coral-peach that was subtle enough to really work on me. I’m extremely pale with yellow undertones and this kind of shade just makes me glow. I’m most excited for this one from the launch!
Lovely, but not original. My wallet might be happy about that! It’s crazy how well corals go over in the collections though.
Hmm…this looks a lot like Tarte Blissful, which I own… and yet, I still want this! Eeeek =\
Christine, is this at all similar to Illamasqua Lover?
I own a bajillion peach blushes (my fave) so I’m desperately trying to justify not getting this even though I really want it. Lol.
Thanks so much for the beautiful swatches!
Lover doesn’t turn as coral on me – it stays peachier/more orange.
Hey Christine, how do you think this would look on NC45 skin? Would it show?
Barely, IMO!
Love the lighting in your photo! 🙂
This will be mine!
This is a must!! and you wearing it soooo pretty ^^ I need to go check the counter here asap
What collection is this? I am so excited for the Sailor collection in the summer!
Tres Cheek
Is it a dupe for Mac Instant Chic? The swatches look similar.
It’s pinker than Instant Chic 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/mac-pret-a-papier-collection-blush-mineralize-blush-review-photos-swatches
This looks beautiful! Reminds me of a matte version of Benefit’s Coralista in your swatches. I will definitely be visiting a MAC counter once this collection comes out!
Loving a lot of these blushes, but I think this may be the one I’ll pick up if I were to buy any. I already own a lot of blushes with shimmer and frost finishes, but really none with a satin or matte finish. Plus I love the soft warmth that this one gives, which I think will look very natural on my NC20 skin. (I have a tendency to apply blush too heavily, so it’ll be good that it won’t seem like a problem with this colour). Don’t really have anything in a soft coral/peach either even though other people seem to think it’s common. To me, this seems like a softer, warmer version of NARS orgasm without all the glitter, but I can’t tell unless swatched closely together.
I’d say NARS Orgasm would appear pinker overall, too 🙂
Love your site, it’s the only one I rely on for swatches and reviews! You really got me into buying MAC, ’cause I feel really confident that I made a good purchase after checking your reviews. Very important as, where I am from, cosmetics returns are not as generous as in the US.
Was wondering how it compares to MAC Peaches (sheertone)? I love the swatch but it seems very similar to Peaches (which I have) and do you think I should save for other blushes in this collection instead?
Peaches is a lot peachier on me – no real pink in it! You could opt for one of the pink shades or even Modern Mandarin if you wanted to aim for diversity!
Hi Christine!
Do you think it is any similar to Chanel Espielege?
Chanel Espiegle is peachier – not as coral-ish.
I think I’m just going to get Thebalm’s frat boy instead, it seems like a less stressful, cheaper (in england) option, plus you get more product. Thanks for the dupe list!
This looks really similar to NARS Gina..or even Gilda which is a little pinker xx
How does this compare to Melba?
Melba seems a little deeper, darker 🙂
I have Melba; I brought it to the counter today because I was concerned that the two colours would be too close. They aren’t. Immortal Flower (while warm) is pinker somehow, softer. I like that Immortal Flower can be built up to a slightly deeper colour but can also just give a very natural warm flush.
I bought Modern Mandarin as well and tried to build Immortal Flower up to a sheer dusting of the former. I couldn’t, and ended up getting both. I did try. 😉
Thank you for letting me know! 🙂
Christine is this similar to Chanel’s Espiegle blush? I’m getting the Chanel one and I’m not sure if I should by both.
Espiegle is peachier to me 🙂
omg, this color is so beautiful!! I’ve been looking for a soft peach blush like this one since forever
I died. Will lay hands on this! O_O
hm, this reminds me of Alpha Girl – maybe with a stronger pigmentation.
I really really like this blush. I’ve been looking for a new blush, and this one is perfect for me! I will try to pre-order it or order it online, because I will be away for spring break. Hopefully I can get on time!!
Does this compare at all to chanel espiegle?
Immortal Flower is pinker on me – not as peach as Espiegle!
Christine does this compare to MAC Peaches?
Peaches is peachy, no real pink to it!
my fav
I just bought this today ^^ love the color. It looks good on you christine.
Will this show up on a nw43/45? It looks really pretty 🙂
I’m NC42. Would I be better off getting theBalm’s Frat Boy?
Yes!
I just wonder is it similar with instant chic?
This is pinker than Instant Chic! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-pret-a-papier-collection-blush-mineralize-blush-review-photos-swatches
From the picture it looks similar to Nars Sex Appeal…
Totally different! See this post – http://www.temptalia.com/nars-sex-appeal-blush-review-photos-swatches
Beautiful
Would you recommend this for NW 15/20 skin?
Sure!
im going back and forth with this blush…do you think the color will show up on tan skin ( nw30)
It will show up somewhat!
do you think this is similar to mac my highland honey blush?
My Highland Honey is much more orange!
Hi Christine! Do you think this blush is similar to Melba?
Pinker 🙂
I really wanted this after seeing these swatches, but when I went in person they barely showed up on my NC25-30 skin 😐 I wish it were a little more pigmented since I have a light hand with makeup! Definitely checking out the dupe from theBalm after this – thanks for the suggestion, Christine!
I really like this one! Is this be a good first MAC blush?
It’s OK – it’s not the best quality one!
How does this compare to MAC Early Morning?
MAC Early Morning is pinker!
hi christine,
I would like to ask what is the best MAC lipstick color that is suitable for immortal flower? 🙂 I just bought one! thanks
Maybe Crosswires?
I was wondering how immortal flower compares to mac’s peaches? Are they different enough to have both?
Peaches is just peach!
How does Immortal Flower compare with Nars Sex Appeal blush?
Is it more orange-ish or pink-ish? Cause on her left cheek it looks more pink while on the right more peachy.
Hi Carla!
Read the text under the photo – I am only wearing Immortal on the right.
This blush is amazing. I got it today in the mail and wore it and loved it so much I ordered a back up. I’m a nw20 and owns hundreds of blushes but this one is so unique. Love it!
Hi christine, is this shade also comparable to mac peaches blush? Thanks
@Iragirl This is pinker!
Hi. Would you say this is a close match to Mac blush called instant chic? If not what blush color would be the closest to instant chic?
Thanks =]
Finally got this & love it. It’s a sort of milky peachy pink on me. My skin tone is about an NW25. Really really pretty on. It looks lighter in the pan than I expected but still is quite noticeable on my skin. It’s very similar to a Makeup Forever eyeshadow pan I have that I use as a blush.
