MAC I’m the One Blush
Is This Pink the One for You?
MAC I’m the One Blush ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone blue pink.” Like I’m the One, this shade darkened the minute it touched the skin. It looks lighter in the pan, but swatched (and applied!), it is a lightened, medium pink with strong blue undertones–it almost has a lilac-edge to it, but it’s still very much pink first. It has a satin finish, so there is a very subtle natural sheen that’s most apparent the more blended out it is. NARS Gaiety is incredible similar on–swatched, it appears marginally lighter (and for darker complexions, it is more pigmented). MAC Peony Petal is darker, slightly more magenta but the difference is negligible on.
The color payoff was good, but medium complexions or darker, you’ll find that you need to go back at least once, if not twice more, to get enough color to show up on the cheeks–I used MAC’s 116 brush to apply and blend. This blush works well with really heavy, cool-toned smoky eyes as well as cool-toned complexions in general. The texture is firm, but it is still soft and easy to blend out when applied. When I trialed this shade, it lasted seven hours and was slightly faded after a full eight hours.

You’re obviously gorgeous, but when I saw the last picture I thought “Someone puked pink all over you!”. 😀
Good to know!
I just bough this blush today, can’t wait to use it!
Let us know how it works for you!
I love both blushes you’ve reviewed so far. This is the first MAC collection I’ve been excited about for a while!
Which is your favorite blush of the two?
Easy Manner!
Is this similar to Illamasqua’s Nymph?
I believe Nymph is lighter!
Pretty, but I already have Gaiety 🙂
Better choice!
How does it compare to Nars Mata Hari?
I think NARS’ Mata Hari is darker pink.
I just got this at my local MAC store this morning. As an NC44 at mac, this shade looks absolutely amazing on my skin tone. This is my first cool toned true pink blush and it gives off a very Winter Princess/ Ice Queen vibe. Very pigmented, smooth and has a nice light sheen. I love it!
So happy to hear it works on your NC44 skin!
I’m glad you mentioned the similarity to Peony Petal, I have it and love it, so it’s good to know I DO NOT need both!!
Always happy to help, Jade! 🙂
Looks so good on your complexion, Christine. And the pinks on your eyes look great with it. Wonderful things happen when you mix warm and cool sometimes.
Thank you, Kiya! 🙂
Hi Christine ! thanks for sharing all this with everyone . I Liked your Facebook page and I thought I was actually going to see whenever you post something but I can’t . I don’t know why , I have to go to your page to see it instead of showing in my FB . Strange , but I don’t mind checking your page everyday because I love everything you write.
Thanks again!! love this collection
I was told that Facebook has it so what you post on your page only broadcasts to a small percentage of the people who like it, and if you want it to go to your whole audience, you have to pay for it. 🙁 $100 per post we share on Facebook to go to everyone!
Wow! Definitely most excited about I’m the one, I’m a sucker for pink 🙂
