MAC Full of Joy & Peony Petal Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches (2014)
MAC Full of Joy Blush
MAC Full of Joy Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “lavender.” It’s a cool-toned, light lavender with a hint of pink and a satin finish. It’s a true lavender–this is a blush that doesn’t just turn pink applied to the skin. It had excellent color payoff with a soft, silky texture that was blendable, buildable, and wore for almost eight hours before starting to fade. NARS Sex Fantasy (LE, $29.00) is much pinker. NARS Mistinguette (LE, $29.00) is also pinker. NARS Gaiety (P, $29.00) is pinker. MAC Unconventional (LE, $21.00) is slightly p inker. MAC Lazy Sunday (LE, $20.00) is lighter, pinker, cream. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
MAC Peony Petal Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “bright blue pink.” It’s a medium, blue-based pink with cool undertones and a satin finish. It had great pigmentation, and it applied easily–no issues blending or applying it to get smooth, even coverage. The most recent release seems slightly softer and easier to use than the original, which felt a little dry for the first few uses. The color wore well for almost eight hours before it started to fade. Milani Delizioso Pink (10) (P, $7.99) is lighter. NARS Gaiety (P, $29.00) is lighter. MAC I’m the One (LE, $21.00) is a smidgen lighter, warmer. Illamasqua Morale (P, $26.00) is more shimmery.See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I think Full of Joy would look quite nice on lighter complexions.
Yes, it’s a blush I can’t wear at all, but I think on others, it would be lovely!
Full of Joy is still in my untried. What lippy would you recommend pairing it with? Looks lovely on you! <3
Maybe a darker berry 🙂
I’m not sure if I can pull off full of joy, but I’m really tempted!
At least it’s a more unique shade!
Nice shades! not the ones i can really pull off though!
Aww! I like Peony Petal, but Full of Joy just always looks awful on me, lol!
HOW DOES THE MARK JACOB LAVENDAR BLUSH COMPARE?
Hey Leah!
Unfortunately, I don’t have that one!
SO excited to see Full of Joy! I’ve wasted too much money on lavender blushes that disappear or turn pink. Thank you for the review!
No problem! Hope this one works for you 🙂
Hi Christine,
I was just wondering what blush you were wearing in the last picture on your left cheek (not the side with peony petal). Its such a pretty peach!
Modern Mandarin! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-lovecloud-modern-mandarin-blushes-reviews-photos-swatches-2014
Can’t wait to get my hands on Full of Joy! <3
Yay!
Both are beautiful shades!
They are!
It’s really light. Too light for you, and for me as well I think. But on very fair skin this would probably look great!
Yes, definitely not the most easily used blush for some skin tones!
Full of Joy is going to be mine! I can’t wait 🙂
Enjoy, Larissa!
Full of Joy is gorgeous! Glad to hear they improved the texture, MAC blushes can be too dry sometimes! xx
Yes, these are really nice!
Hmm, now, see I thought the other one was more ‘purple’ on… Full of Joy here looks a bit too chalky in base colour for my taste (but that’s probably because my natural complexion is ‘chalk’, LOL)
Peony Petal is pretty!
More… lavender, I guess? Peony Petal is a lot easier to wear!
Full of Joy is a gorgeous shade, it’s a shame cool tones don’t compliment my skin very well!
I know! I wish it worked for me, too!
I’m liking Peony Petal. I’m so pale, I need a pop of pink 🙂 Your skin is looking flawless!
It’ll be lovely on your skin tone, Valerie!
I don’t think I could pull off either of these shades but Peony Petal looks so bright and pretty
I think Peony Petal might work!
yellow/olive skinned ladies, i mentioned this in another post- but full of joy works great as a base for those cool blushes that tend to still lean range on your skin, a bit of it under colors like Gaiety or Nyx’s Pinky, dior rosy glow etc, works wonders!
Thank you for sharing, Jellybean!
I’d have to swatch these but they look promising!
I bet Full of Joy would be nice on you!
Oh I would love to try this out
Hope you can try ’em, John!
I own Peony Petal and now I think I nee to dig it out again. It will be great for spring!
What lip color do you like to wear with Peony Petal?
I love them both..but Full of Joy is my favorite!
I’m so jealous of everyone who can rock it!
Are any of these blushes in this collection limited edition?
These are being added to the permanent range!
I’m a sucker for pinks. Both look lovely but I probably can’t pull off Full of joy either. I’m more medium-toned like you.
Full of Joy just looks sooooo bad on me.
Love full of joy!
It’s really difficult to find truly lavender blushes, I’ve had to order them from Korean brands (where lilac cheeks seem to be a lot more popular) I’m definitely going to have to get this one!
Woohoo! I’m so glad we’ll have access to one more easily now!
Okay, so I totally caved on Full of Joy and went to MAC today to try it on. It came home with me, and so did a Lovecloud lemming >.<
Thank you for putting these blushes on my radar, Christine! I'm so happy to have finally found a blush that reads lavender against my skin 🙂
Awwww! I’m SO glad it’s working out for you as a TRUE LAVENDER! I hope you’ll post a pic of it on. I’d love to see someone truly rockin’ it so I can live vicariously!
