MAC Freckletone Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Freckletone Lipstick

MAC Freckletone Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “neutral peach” with a Lustre finish. It’s a warm-toned, muted peach with a little burst of orange. MAC Delectable is more orange and opaque. MAC Fashion City is more opaque and lighter. Cle de Peau Calliope is more beige. The shade is also part of the permanent range.

Freckletone has semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage–it has a level of sheerness expected of the Lustre finish, and it enables the natural lip color to come through.  Naturally, the more pigmented your natural lip color, the more of an affect it will have on the resulting color.  This version seemed more opaque than the Freckletone I have from a few years ago, so I don’t know if it’s a result of this being a one-off batch (since it’s embossed) or not.  It has a thin, just slightly wet, consistency that applied without pulling or tugging too much on lips.  It wore for three hours, and it was neither drying nor hydrating–and for me, “not drying” is a step-up, as I find most Lustres slightly drying.

One of my favorite MAC lipsticks. I love the color, consistency, everything. I wear it frequently, and it’s one of the few shades I’d actually purchase again if I ran out.

I am wearing freckletone today, and mine is almost finished, I may buy this one, because is my everyday lipstick along with MAC margin blush. It looks so pretty on you Christine, you are one of those people that can wear almost any color of makeup and look amazing witn it. Me, warm tones work better on me. Happy Sunday.

Hi, christine. How do you compare this with Hug Me? Also, do you think that Freckletone will too pale for a very light/fair skin tone? Thanks for answering 🙂

I want to get this, but I’m not sure it will work for me (NC20, dark brown hair, green eyes)..

But I will say this color was used at one of Mariah Carey’s performance/appearances last year. I asked her MUA Kristofer Buckle what he put on her, and he said he used this shade. 🙂

Mariah nude lip approved.

I love peachy nudes, but MAC’s always seem washed out on my very fair skin. I have Touch, which I know is browner and darker, what would be the lighter version of that?

I love this color. This is also my go-to nude. I don’t know what shade I’m in re: MAC foundation, but I wear a mix of EL Double Wear Light of #2 and #3. I like it because it has a peachy tone, and it doesn’t look at all orange on me. I’ve had it for years; maybe it’s about time I pick up a new one. The snake design is cool.

Ugh, My broke ass has been lemming freckletone since forever.
Searching high and low for a DS dupe, but to no avail.
Apparently Maybellines Nude Attitude is a dupe, or so I’ve read, but from swatches I’ve seen, I don’t think it is. I don’t see that orange tone that freckletone has!

Sigh.

Hopefully Ulta will hire me, and then freckletone will be mine!
