MAC Flowerscope Lipstick
MAC Flowerscope Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “clean red-pink with blue undertone.” It’s a brightened, fuchsia-red with cool, blue undertones, fine fuchsia pearl, and a natural finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a noticeable translucency that will let the natural lip color come through. The texture is slightly firm until it warms up against the natural lip. It wore well for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Guerlain Champs-Elysees (P, $37.00) is darker. MAC Impassioned (P, $17.00) is warmer, less glossy. MAC Lickable (P, $17.00) is cooler. Marc Jacobs Beauty Roll the Dice (118) (P, $30.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Voila! (120) (P, $30.00) is less glossy. Guerlain Provocative (863) (LE, $51.00) is darker, warmer. Revlon Vivacious (120) (P, $8.99) is lighter. MAC Feeling Amorous? (LE, $20.00) is lighter, less pigmented. Too Faced Jelly Bean (P, $22.00) is darker. Estee Lauder Tumultuous Pink (P, $30.00) is lighter. Bite Beauty Crianza (P, $28.00) is lighter, brighter. Guerlain Rose Grenat (864) (LE, $51.00) is warmer, glossier. Guerlain Very Pink (360) (P, $37.00) is lighter. MAC Red Balloon (LE, $17.00) is lighter. MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter. First 15 dupes listed, see more: See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
MAC Heaux Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “berry.” It’s a medium-dark, berry-red with a hint of pink and subtle, cool undertones (it almost looks warm-toned against my complexion at times). This shade was released previously with a Retro Matte finish, but it is now an Amplified finish. The color is similar, though a little more muted and less cool-toned to me, while the formula applies better and is more forgiving once it warms up, but it doesn’t last as long (it wears for five hours in this formula). It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on evenly, and the formula was neither drying nor hydrating. Burberry Bright Plum (15) (P, $30.00) is darker. Buxom Menace (P, $21.00) is glossier. NARS Palais Royal (P, $25.00) is darker, warmer. Bite Beauty Aubergine (P, $24.00) is cooler. NARS Vera (P, $32.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler. Tom Ford Beauty Moroccan Rouge (DC, $50.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler. Tom Ford Beauty Didier (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler. Estee Lauder Thrilling (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter. Estee Lauder Unattainable (P, $30.00) is cooler, less glossy. Estee Lauder Intriguing (P, $30.00) is more muted. MAC Quelle Surprise Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “deep purple berry.” It’s a muted, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and fine pink and violet pearl. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque pigmentation that went on evenly but pulled into lip lines just slightly after three hours of wear. The color lasted closer to four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time. Guerlain Bee (LE, $51.00) is lighter, more muted. Guerlain Flirt (LE, $35.00) is darker, more muted. Marc Jacobs Beauty Little Pretty (130) (P, $30.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Venom (P, $22.00) is brighter, cooler. Marc Jacobs Beauty Cabaret (146) (LE, $30.00) is more muted, warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Alasdhair (LE, $32.00) is darker, warmer. Urban Decay After Dark (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Too Faced Metallic Jelly (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter, glossier. Formula Summary: MAC Lipstick ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) has a variety of finishes, which results in color coverage, finish, comfort, wear, and texture to vary from finish to finish. Lustres tend to be sheer to semi-sheer with a thin, slippery consistency and wear one to three hours; they are lightly to moderately drying on me, despite their slip. Cremesheens typically have semi-opaque to opaque coverage, wear an average of four hours, are sometimes drying and sometimes not drying, and have a light shine to their finish. Amplifieds have a light sheen, opaque coverage, slightly thicker consistency but is less “heavy” in look compared to satins; they are typically not drying but not hydrating and can wear four to six hours. Satins have less sheen compared to Amplifieds but have similar coverage and wear. Mattes, particularly newer iterations of the finish, have a velvety, silicone-like consistency that makes them easier to apply without drag, and they typically have opaque coverage and wear four to six hours, but they can be drying. Retro Mattes are ultra-matte with a very flat, nearly no-sheen finish, and they are often stiffer in the tube but thinner in consistency compared to satins or mattes; they are often drying but wear four to eight hours. All MAC Lipsticks are vanilla-scented with no discernible taste.

Wow, Flowerscope is brighter than I thought. I like Heaux. As for Quelle Surprise, I thought it would be more purple, but it’s a pretty berry plum. Oh, I LOVE your eye look!
Thank you, Katherine! 🙂
Flowerscope looks so pretty!
It is a nice pop of color!
These are beautiful! Even though it didn’t score as high as the other two, Quelle Surprise just went on my wishlist. I can’t resist these types of colors. 🙂
Enjoy, Kimmy!
These are all beautiful shades, but be still my heart with Heaux! Have you tried Heaux as the Matte? They both look equally gorgeous. (This shade looks wonderful on you!)
Yes, I reviewed Heaux previously – linked in the post above!
I picked up Too Faced Metallic Jelly this morning at Macy’s so I’m somewhat relieved that Quelle Surprise didn’t get a higher rating. Still and all, I think I still want it. It’s so pretty!
It is a nice color!
I purchased Heaux from this collection and I love it. Definitely a great berry lipstick.
Happy to hear it 😀
Does this mean Heaux is returning to MAC?
It’s a limited edition shade, so it isn’t permanent!
Did I miss the memo on Mac lipstick prices going up yet again?
It just happened!
I’m really liking Heaux here. I am fighting with myself because I have been wanting to get the Estee Lauder matte dupe in Unnattainable as well. They look so close on the screen! I may wind up with both, lol.
lol!
Would Quelle Surprise be a glossier dupe of Açai?

I really love Heaux! Can’t resist those berry reds! Hope it’s not LE. Quelle Suprise is also tempting…
Ah I see it is LE. Might have to get on that!
LE for both!
Nice! I thought Heaux was a Cremesheen, what good news! I love this shade! But maybe Bite Juniper is too close, now that I’m looking at it. The other two are both Cremesheens though, right? It doesn’t say, and it’s impossible to tell in the new MAC website.
Yep, the other two are Cremesheens! Royally Riotous and Heaux are Amplifieds (according to the actual labels).
OMG Heaux and Quelle Surprise are beautiful. I love the Heaux in the retro matte finish too!
They all look good on you. I’m going to get Heaux. It’s perfect for fall 🙂
Wow, Christine… this is awesome. I’m eyeing Heaux and Quelle Surprise… Do you know if and when they’ll be available in Canada? I missed Heaux the first time around and would love to add to my collection.
I love Heaux the best, and all 3 are really gorgeous! But Heaux is the one I am going for, and probably Royally Riotous!
I like all three colors. Once again I’d go with the UD dupe on the last shade!
“Quelle Surprise is pretty interesting…oh, I have two of the dupes.” Nevermind, then. XD
