MAC Feelin' So Good Lipglass Review, Photos, Swatches (Archie's Girls)

MAC Feelin' So Good Lipglass
MAC Feelin’ So Good Lipglass

MAC Feelin’ So Good Lipglass ($16.50 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep blackened plum.” It’s a dark, reddish plum with brown undertones. Bobbi Brown Plum Gold is more berry-colored and has gold shimmer. MAC Lasting Achievement is redder/plummier. MAC Gertruyd is slightly lighter.

It’s semi-opaque–it noticeably tints the lips and makes them look darker, but a lot of the natural lip color can come through. There is a lot of noticeable settling of the darker color into lip lines, and it looked uneven to me even from a normal viewing distance (aka not just up-close-and-personal).  I don’t normally have problems with lip colors bleeding/feathering, but this one did migrate a little outside of my lips.  It  had the normal feel of Lipglass–a thicker formula with a tacky feel.  This shade coordinates really well with Boyfriend Stealer, though this is a smidgen browner overall.  Feelin’ So Good wore just under four hours on me.

I love the shade, but there’s something off with the formula- the way it settled and looked uneven isn’t making me feel any good. I wish the shimmer was more pronounced, and the lipglass itself more opaque 🙁

Ugh. Seconded on the not feeling so good. Looks like it would be ideal to capture the look of old blood when doing zombie/undead makeup. Yikes.

Thanks for the review anyway Christine

I usually agree with your reviews (99.9%), but I cannot believe the color settlement didn’t turn you off. Literally from orange to black you can pull off any lip color, but HOLY MOLY! This lipgloss looks atrocious.

I love vampy colors but the way this distributes on lips is terrible :/
The only way I could see it working is over something else. It might look awesome over another color…

I don’t know why, and this a bit off-colour, but this lipglass just looks as though you smeared blood on your lips or something. There’s something almost vulgar, yet familiar, about it.

Seriously girls, who is going to stare at your lips from a 5cm distance. You can see it settling into lip lines if you stare at yourself in the mirror way up close. This colour I am definitely going to get!

I just thought I’d throw my 2 cents in about this lipglass…

I ordered one for myself when it launched online and was so excited about it until I saw Christine’s swatches (no offense to her of course!) of it as it looks rather rusty/brown and people’s negative comments about the application.. I became weary of it and worried it won’t look very nice after all 🙁

I just got it today, I tried it on, and I LOVE IT!
It pulls much more PURPLE and “greyed out” on me, which was exactly what I was expecting when I purchased this product. It’s a maroonish greyeish colour, very cute/vamp. I am fair skinned and leans cool and that’s why I think it looks different on me. Yeah it is definitely a nice “grey maroon”.

As for settling into lines.. I see it a bit but it is really slight and therefore it’s not a problem for me..(i think all lip products settle into lines to some degree) like Christine mentioned it is semi-opaque and ur natural lip colour comes through so make sure your lips are in perfect condition before you apply.

I’m quite satisfied w mine and I predict this to look ESPECIALLY GORGEOUS on porcelain pale ladies w dark hair :D!!

Got mine today, and I was so excited because of the swatches on here! I have to say that I’m very disappointed because the color is WAY darker and more of a purple/black instead of some maroon mixed in. Also, it does settle horribly on the lips, and does not let my (very pigmented) natural lip color show through (which might have saved it, in my book). I had such high hopes 🙁
