MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush ($27.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light yellow pink with gold pearl.” It’s a medium pink with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. Chanel Innocence (160) (P, $45.00) is more neutral, rosier. MAC Cheeky Bugger (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Streak Blush (P) is brighter, warmer, more matte. Dior My Lady (003) (LE, $60.00) is darker, less shimmery. Hourglass Radiant Magenta (P, $35.00) is warmer. Tarte Crave (LE, $26.00) is darker. NYX Summer Peach (P, $5.00) is darker, more matte. NYX Peach (P, $5.00) is darker, more matte. NYX Mauve (P, $5.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The texture was soft, finely-milled, and lightly powdery, though it was certainly easy to blend when applying to the skin. It doesn’t look powdery on the skin, once blended and buffed on. According to MAC, the Mineralize Blush formula is described as a “sheer and lightweight” formula where “colour builds lightly” with “luminous, pearlized shimmer.” This had semi-sheer color payoff in one layer, though it was buildable to richer, more opaque coverage in two to three layers (depending on how much you grab each time). This newly repackaged version (I still haven’t received confirmation on whether or not the formula was updated) seems to have a smoother consistency than the older version, though the color seems about the same. On me, this shade wore well for seven hours before fading.

Christine, is this pinker/cooler than MAC’s Early Morning blush? I kick myself regularly for getting it instead of Subtle Breeze and I’m always looking for a Mineralized Blush that might be similar, with the same lovely sheen (Early Morning has that sheen but it is just more orange than I like). Wondering if Dainty might be a reasonable substitute for Subtle Breeze (it’s really the mineralized sheen that I want to be able to capture).

Okay – this is good to know. Even though I don’t need another blush, I think I will pick up Dainty the next time I’m at the MAC counter (honestly, though – I wish they’d just repromote Subtle Breeze….and Jardin Aires; my life – in terms of makeup – would be complete!)

Oh so many pretty blushes there are. I generally don’t like the mineralize formula, but this looks very nice.
Lovely on your skin, Christine!

I really, really love this colour! It still feels so weird to me to see the new packaging- it feels as though these products are retro MAC rather than new!

I’ve always loved this one. It can look fushia, pink, whatever.. On each person it always looks like they’ve just worked out or been in the sun and I love it. It’s wonderful on olive skintones! I’m a very fair with neutral/olive undertones so I adore this. Yay!
