MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush
MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush ($27.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light yellow pink with gold pearl.” It’s a medium pink with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. Chanel Innocence (160) (P, $45.00) is more neutral, rosier. MAC Cheeky Bugger (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Streak Blush (P) is brighter, warmer, more matte. Dior My Lady (003) (LE, $60.00) is darker, less shimmery. Hourglass Radiant Magenta (P, $35.00) is warmer. Tarte Crave (LE, $26.00) is darker. NYX Summer Peach (P, $5.00) is darker, more matte. NYX Peach (P, $5.00) is darker, more matte. NYX Mauve (P, $5.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The texture was soft, finely-milled, and lightly powdery, though it was certainly easy to blend when applying to the skin. It doesn’t look powdery on the skin, once blended and buffed on. According to MAC, the Mineralize Blush formula is described as a “sheer and lightweight” formula where “colour builds lightly” with “luminous, pearlized shimmer.” This had semi-sheer color payoff in one layer, though it was buildable to richer, more opaque coverage in two to three layers (depending on how much you grab each time). This newly repackaged version (I still haven’t received confirmation on whether or not the formula was updated) seems to have a smoother consistency than the older version, though the color seems about the same. On me, this shade wore well for seven hours before fading.

Oh, I’ve talked about this blush in so many comments. This is my first MAC blush and my favourite blush of all time.
Aww! Memories 😀
This was also my first MAC Blush! Must be something about the light pink flush that appeals to those new to makeup.
It was my first mac blush too!!
So Beautiful on you ! 😉
Thanks a lot, Jingyi!
Love this blush
What do you like to pair it with, Melinda?
On my skin, Dainty looks exactly the same as NARS’ Deep Throat and Benefit’s Bella Bamba.
Nice! Both of those appear darker on me.
I really hate this new packaging! I think I will not buy anything from the Mineralize line just because of the packaging.
Aww!
I have this on right now, this and the estee lauder sensuous rose blush are my favorites blushes ever!!
Nice picks! 🙂
I love this blush for Spring! I wear it with Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya and just mascara, simple and pretty 🙂
How pretty!
LOVEE the color! I need this, and I’ve never thought that about Mac before!
It’s a really nice shade!
That looks gorgeous on you Christine!
Thanks, Dani!
This is such a pretty color on you Christine.. but I’ve always wondered whether it will show up on me! too lazy to try it in store lol!
It’s more buildable than you’d think, given the lighter color!
On the darkest olive skintones, it looks like you’re glowing. I think you’d look radiant, fresh, and healthy in it! Xo Lotus
Christine, is this pinker/cooler than MAC’s Early Morning blush? I kick myself regularly for getting it instead of Subtle Breeze and I’m always looking for a Mineralized Blush that might be similar, with the same lovely sheen (Early Morning has that sheen but it is just more orange than I like). Wondering if Dainty might be a reasonable substitute for Subtle Breeze (it’s really the mineralized sheen that I want to be able to capture).
It’s definitely pinker and less rusty compared to Early Morning. Definitely less orange than Early Morning! I think Gentle is probably the closest to Subtle Breeze from the permanent shades…
Okay – this is good to know. Even though I don’t need another blush, I think I will pick up Dainty the next time I’m at the MAC counter (honestly, though – I wish they’d just repromote Subtle Breeze….and Jardin Aires; my life – in terms of makeup – would be complete!)
Jardin Aires! Going old school on me 😉
Oh so many pretty blushes there are. I generally don’t like the mineralize formula, but this looks very nice.
Lovely on your skin, Christine!
Thank you, Helene! They’re not my favorites either – just don’t wear as long for me!
I really love this one. I’ve been looking for one like this lately.
Ooh, could it be THE one? 🙂
What a lovely color and sheen!
Happy to hear you liked it, Carolyn!
I’m in love with this colour – this is a repromote if I am not mistaken right? I love the warmth of the colour on the cheeks! Looks lovely on you Christine!
MAC repackaged their Mineralize Blushes, so I’m just reviewing them now with that new change in place (many of these I haven’t reviewed before, as they came out a long time ago).
I am still on the fence about sparkle in blushes – I love sparkle as a rule, but I always end up feeling (with blush) like I’d have to do all my makeup to wear a shimmery or sparkly blush (whereas a matte/satin one I can just tap on and go). I could be imagining this…
I can see the desire to have more makeup on with a shimmery finish – because it’s less like your skin in its natural state!
I really, really love this colour! It still feels so weird to me to see the new packaging- it feels as though these products are retro MAC rather than new!
It’s taking me awhile to get used to it!
What blush are you wearing on your other cheek?
I’m really not sure!
If you look at the Just A Wisp Mac mineralized blush post, you’ll see that’s what it is!
Hi Christine… Looks lovely on you. No wonder this is fastest selling mineralized blush.
Thank you, Eesha!
It lovely but I’d rather get the UD dupe.
Can’t go wrong either way!
I’ve always loved this one. It can look fushia, pink, whatever.. On each person it always looks like they’ve just worked out or been in the sun and I love it. It’s wonderful on olive skintones! I’m a very fair with neutral/olive undertones so I adore this. Yay!
Yay! Happy to hear you love it on your skin tone, too!
I’ve heard so much about this blush lol. Everyone loves it! It looks a little too pale for me but it’s still very pretty
It’s been SO long since I’ve seen/used it, lol!
Oh,
I have Dainty, so no Cheeky Bugger for me then, sorry Kelly and thanks Temptalia for helping me stay within my budget :)))) Will see what the MSF Duo in Jolly Good is like on me when it’s in my local MAC.
My pleasure, Natalia! 😀
