MAC Cheeky Bits & Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Cheeky Bits
MAC Cheeky Bits Extra Dimension Blush ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with golden shimmer. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly to the cheeks. The powder was smooth, soft, and blendable but never powdery or dusty in the pan (and this type of formula often has a slightly “drier” feel). I was impressed by just how effortless diffusing this richer shade was! The color stayed on well for nine hours before fading slightly on me.
The Extra Dimension Blush formula is supposed to have “long-wearing colour with prismatic reflections” that wears for “10 hours.” The formula is typically very pigmented with a soft, smooth texture that’s firmer in the pan but not difficult to use–I had no issues grabbing color with even my softest brushes–and has no dustiness or powderiness in the pan. The blushes are usually blendable with a luminous glow on the cheeks that did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. With MAC’s newly-added permanent shades, the wear time has ranged from eight to ten hours.

Fairly Precious
MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Blush ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium, peachy orange with warm undertones and an iridescent pink sheen. This shade was previously released as a Skinfinish, and it seemed to be the same shade as my Skinfinish. It had good color payoff with a strong sheen that did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It had a soft, smooth, and blendable texture that was easy to work with, and I felt like the finish became more reflective and smoother as I buffed and blended the powder on my cheeks. The blush lasted for nine hours on me before fading slightly.

Omigosh I am tempted to slap on some sunscreen and go outside to get my summer tan ASAP so that I can wear Cheeky Bits! It’s so bright and beautiful, and would look great against tanned skin. Fairly Precious is gorgeous too. Eep, so excited!
LOL! 😉
These look beautiful on. I love how luminous they are.
Me too! I think the finish is fantastic.
Impressed. Going to have to keep a closer eye on this new line.
Worth trying for sure if you like more shimmery blush!
It’ll be so hard to decide, these are so pretty and scoring so well!
They are!
These are both stunning! Normally, I wouldn’t even check out something as light as Fairly Precious, but it DOES seem to have enough color to it for it to potentially work on my medium olive skintone. Especially since those 2 Essence Blushes both work on me.
Cheeky Bits is that *perfect* gold infused peach that throws Nars Orgasm to the curb! LOVE it!
I think you will LOVE Fairly Precious on you, Nancy! It might be more of a highlighting blush on you but still give you some color, I think.
I’m glad these are good, I’m liking both colors, especially fairly precious!
Me too! 🙂
Fairly Precious is gorgeous and my be perfect for my skin tone.
It will be lovely on you, Lily!
Cheeky Bits is right up my alley!! I love the glow and the shade of it!!!
Woohoo!!
I am so happy with a lot of my blushes so why oh why do I feel I have to have these? I need to attend Makeup Anon!
Awww! Try to dupe any you see with your stash 🙂
Great idea – but I will probably order Cheeky Bits anyway!
These are really gorgeous shades for a reasonable price. Love the Fairly Precious shade as I lean towards peachy blushes.
I think MAC did a great job with the formula on these!
I swatched all of these and they are stunning. I went with Sweets for my Sweet but Cheeky Bits and Fairly Precious were very tempting!
They are really nice so far!
I’m in the market for blush and love both of these!
Awesome to hear it, Janine!
So beautiful on you! I’m buying Fairly Precious for sure.
Thank you, Valerie!
I brought Cheeky Bits when I swatched it at Macy’s last week. I love it ! I’m sure I’ll purchase a few more colors of the Extra Dimension blushes. I’m digging blushes with a little shimmer in them lately.
Nice! Love hearing from others who have tried them!
Swatched all of them in store today – they’re STUNNING!
They are!
These surpass all my expectations! Both of these are lovely!
Mine too 🙂
Gah, this collection looks pretty awesome so far! I suspect my biggest problem with it will be picking out the shades I really want to buy! I do have Becca Snapdragon, so that will probably not be one of my picks, but I do love it!
Keep us posted on which ones you end up trying, Isa!
They are both amazing. I love the lumenousity.
Me too 😀 The finish is nice!
I just threw out mac light year skinfinish. I had used that for so many years and barely made a dent. After awhile i got sick of the glitter. Are these very glittery?
I don’t think they are glittery – shimmery, yes, but not large, chunky glitter.
Both beautiful colors though Cheeky Bits intensity scares me a bit. I would probably go for the more subdued Fairly Precious and maybe the lighter dupes for Cheeky Bits.
A light hand, and it’ll still be glowy and gorgeous!
I own the blush Malice by Chanel and purchased Fairly Precious. I wear them together to give a bit more warmth to the color Malice. Love this combination with coral lip color and coppery brown, gold and bronze eyeshadows. It also works well with warm golden greens.
Oooh, I can totally envision how Fairly Precious would work well over Malice!
I just now ordered “cheeky bits” through your MAC link but it is on backorder – so that’s ok! I hope you get credit for the sale. Think I might like the other one better though, Fairly Precious= – I bet I like both! More blushes ….. good grief.
Thank you again, Deborah!
What brush would you recommend with these I bought one yesterday
I haven’t found that any brush was better/worse with these – I use mostly Hakuhodo/Chikuhodo/Wayne Goss/SUQQU brushes for face!
