MAC Bronze Hero & Sun Rush Lustre Drops Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Bronze Hero
MAC Bronze Hero Lustre Drops ($21.00 for 0.60 fl. oz.) is a rich, deep copper with warm, reddish undertones and a fine, pearl sheen. It had sheer coverage that was buildable to semi-sheer coverage, if desired. There was subtle color and dewiness on my complexion when I used it as a cheek highlighter/bronzer. It also worked well mixed in with body cream for a subtle, warming effect on legs and decolletage. The consistency was thin, definitely watery, and blendable without lifting up base products easily. On its own, the highlighter wore well for eight hours on me.
Lustre Drops are supposed to be “water-based” liquid highlighter that has a “sheer, natural-looking” effect that is “luminous” and “shimmering.” They can be mixed with base products (like primer, moisturizer, or foundation) as well as worn alone as a spot highlighter. I like this type of product best for mixing and getting a dewier finish to my base or as a base for underneath blush or highlighter. If you’re someone who enjoys a subtle highlight on the skin or likes a dewy finish, the formula works nicely on its own for just that result. They come in a puff paint-like bottle, and the fine nozzle is great for controlling how much you want.

Sun Rush
MAC Sun Rush Lustre Drops ($21.00 for 0.60 fl. oz.) is a medium gold with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl. It had sheer coverage, as described, which wasn’t buildable, but the effect was still lightly dewy with a hint of shimmer. It was more noticeable in person, though, and it might be more noticeable on much lighter and deeper skin tones than mine (it just blends in quite a bit with my natural coloring). The texture was thin, watery, and easy to spread across bare skin (or over base products with a gentle touch) as well as to mix with things like moisturizer or foundation. On its own, the highlighter wore well for eight hours before starting to look a bit patchy.

These really could make for nice body highlighter for the collarbones, or for a gorgeous bronzer sheen on legs!
Perfect for bronzy legs!
I think I like thsee! I can see mixing them into lotion and putting it on my legs in the summer!
They would be perfect that way!
I love how those look but they aren’t colors that would work for me 🙁
Darn 🙁
Sun Rush looks sooo gorgeous <3
It is!
I have so many liquid highlighters already, it’s so pretty, just not sure if I need it. Too bad it didn’t come with the Fruity Juicy packaging
There are SO many liquid highlighters to choose from nowadays, so I’m not surprised your stash is full!
Lustre drops are the best! I used to mix them with foundation all the time…finally tossed it because it had been 5 yrs (i know, gross) seriously they are a great value if you want to start into liquid highlighters.
