MAC Beaming Blush Extra Dimension Skinfinish Review, Photos, Swatches
Beaming Blush
MAC Beaming Blush Extra Dimension Skinfinish ($33.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a light, subtly warm-toned pink base with a gold and pink shimmer.
The Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula now features four, permanent shades, and the formula is supposed to be a highlighter that “lasts up to ten hours” with “prismatic reflections.” Beaming Blush had semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a soft, lightly dusty consistency that had a few larger sparkles paired with finer shimmer, so I felt like it looked more sparkly on the skin compared to some of the other shades in the formula have. It was very blendable and easy to apply, and I did not notice it emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. The color wore well for eight hours on me.

The Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula is supposed to give “the perfect glow to the skin” with a “creamy powder formula” that wears for “10 hours.” It’s a powder highlighter that I’d describe as a moderate to intense highlighter, and they come in varying hues with some that might work as highlighting blushes/bronzers are on some skin tones and true highlighters on other skin tones. In general, the formula is very pigmented, blendable, and wears around eight to nine hours on me.

I do like it, but this is something where I would be tempted to pack on the color… so the presence of “large sparkles” is kind of a deterrent. At least its permanent.
I wish the shimmer was finer!
OMG, must be mine! I wasn’t able to find Becca Rose Quartz in store to swatch before it sold out, but I think I actually like the gold shimmer/sheen in this one more. And my gosh, LOVE your look. I’ve already ordered the Huda palette, now you make me want that Mauvember lipstick to go with it.
Thank you, Katherine! 🙂
So pretty! *adds to wish list*
😀
Very pretty on you! I love the whole look you have going on Christine!
Aw, thanks Nicole!
Beautiful!! I personally find it too sparkly to wear as a blush but I wouldn’t mind wearing this as a highlighter!
It is pretty as a highlighter!
It seems much more natural when blended out.
It’s funny, but I think it is a little odd on my skin tone because it is a lighter pink that isn’t that warm (even though the shimmer is obviously warm-toned!).
Good job, Christine! I absolutely love the new product layout! It’s great not to have to go all the way down to click on ‘continue reading’ & then back page to read the dupe comparison after viewing the product pics, especially, since I use a larger font, I always had to scroll down to find the ‘continue reading’ at the end. Thank you!
That is great news! I am so glad it will be a better reading experience for you 🙂
Wow!!! What enormous changes to wake up to! But I like them even though they’ll take some getting used to. ?
As for Beaming Blush, it’s a pretty one! But, if all goes as planned on Friday, I’ll have an 85% dupe in EE 1st Light. This week is a tense one while waiting!
I figure they will! A lot of things stayed the same (maybe a little wider, more or less space), but the thing we touched the most was blog reviews – which is obviously a large part of most readers’ routines!
Love the new blog layout, and this is a really winning look on you!
Thank you x2, A!
Wow – I love your new blog look – fantastic! And all the new little features – this is great. Congratulations to you and your team.
Now for the blush – I think I like the Jouer one better. This one would suit very fair complexions only.
Thank you, Genevieve!!
I will pass on these… I have way too may highlighters
…
I hear ya 😉
so glad this is permanent ! it’s beautiful .
looking forward to your review of soft frost since it’s on my wishlist along with beaming blush .
btw , i <LOVE the new layout ! from the logo to the photo gallery .
the site loads much faster now .
thank you , christine !
Yay! Thank you, Nicole!
How close would you say this is to Becca’s (discontinued) Gypsy blush?
There’s nothing quite like Gypsy out there, but this seems like it could be a close match to it! 😀
Kind of similar – I think Gypsy pulls even cooler, but it is similar in concept. I would say more similar on and in effect, if you are neutral-to-warm in tone.
This is beautiful, but I bought already the sweet copper and the sweet peach face compacts. And I have a lot of highlighter from another. So I dont know, maybe later I will buy this
At least it’s permanent — no rush!
It looks very pretty in the pan, but I don’t think it’s for me.
Gotcha!
Love the new logo and general website organisation, so stylish and sophisticated. ?
Thanks, Cassandra!!
I didn’t think I wanted this one, but it reminded me of a darker Too Faced Rosy Glow (right side). It would probably be a blush on me though. 😉
Great review! I cant wait to swatch them myself.
I love this iridescent colours, but I am afraid they don’t really fit my really pale skintone. Do you think I could wear Beaming Blush? I don’t like that blueish soft frost too much and double gleam doesn’t seem to have as much iridescence.
I think you could, Ann!
Pretty, but not wowing me… finer, more silvery shimmer, and I think I’d love it.
