MAC Baroque the Internet & Sugar Dada Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Baroque the Internet
MAC Baroque the Internet Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, even lay down of opaque coverage in a single, fluid stroke. The texture was lightly creamy, dense without being heavy or too thick, and comfortable to apply and to wear. It stayed on well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Baroque the Internet
LELimited Edition. $19.00.
Sugar Dada
MAC Sugar Dada Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a bright, deeper copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick had rich color payoff that applied evenly to my lips and delivered even coverage in one layer. The consistency was lightweight, creamy without being too slippery, but there was a bit of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, which wasn’t noticeable in person, just in the close-up photos. This shade wore well for five and a half hours and was non-drying over time.

Ha, we do not need to dwell on how many dupes I have, but Sugar Diva is lovely. Baroque the Internet is also pretty and quite intriguing. I think I like the clear packaging, too… I’d want to swatch that one in person, though.
FINALLY: No dupes in my stash of EITHER shade! Although I’m thinking that Bite Hot Harissa comes close to being a dupe, it’s brighter, I think.
Definitely getting Baroque The Internet, though!
Sugar Diva is my perfect orange shade.
Sugar Diva is gorgeous. Maybe I dismissed the lipsticks in this collection too quickly.
Oh, Baroque the Internet is my fave name, it looks darker on the bullet. I don’t quite remember if I liked its dupe “Brink”, I didn’t keep it because I wasn’t a fan of the texture. I know not everyone is a fan of the clear packaging, but I love it!
I just saw “Baroque the Internet” tonight in person and it is GORGEOUS! Might have to go back and get it, even though I should be on a “no buy”. LOL
What a disappointment for Baroque the Internet that the color is MUCH lighter than in the tube. 🙁
