Apricot Gold

MAC Apricot Gold Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, peachy brown with warm, orange undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a soft, lightly creamy texture that had moderate slip and glided across my lips without tugging. The color applied evenly and stayed on well for four and a half hours with a lightly hydrating feel over time.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Blue Blood

MAC Blue Blood Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright, medium red with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was fantastic, while the consistency was smooth, velvety, and firm without being too stiff that it dragged on my lips. It wore well for over six hours, left a stain behind, and felt a touch drying after five hours of wear.

Mittai Pink

MAC Mittai Pink Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark raspberry pink with subtle, cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a fluid stroke, and it had a smooth, velvety consistency that was dense and lightly creamy but a bit thicker on the lip. It stayed on for six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was slightly drying after five hours of wear.

These are all really pretty; but, nothing that I need. I an waiting for your review on the dark purple shade from the Padma collection. I have over 40 (!!!) lipsticks, which I absurd I know. I have taken to keeping a journal of every color I own, which descriptions from your reviews, of course. If I going to buy one, I would probably go for the Apricot Gold, because that is a color I do not have under my belt. But, I am save the wallet and see what launches as the year progresses.

Pink in general is a category of lip color that’s under-represented in my stash. Very few pinks appeal to me, so I’m usually immune to temptation, but the kick-in-the-face pinks like Mittai Pink have become more interesting to me of late. Don’t know what to make of that.

I love all three, and have dupes for them. I have a lot of dupes for Blue Blood, 4 of them, and I’m still tempted. I do love the reds 🙂
I will have to sit on my hands when this collection makes it here or the temptation might get me.
