L'Oreal Daybreak True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops Review, Photos, Swatches
Daybreak
L’Oreal Daybreak True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops ($14.99 for 0.28 oz.) is a light pink with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation and shimmer. The consistency was thin, lightweight, and spreadable, though it felt a little more oily than I’ve encountered with most liquid highlighter formulations. It dried down to a softly luminous finish–a noticeable glow at times but nothing intense or metallic. The highlighter lasted well for seven hours on bare skin, though it had a tendency to break down my foundation faster than average, so bare skin was where it lasted the longest for me.

Formula Overview
$14.99/0.28 oz. - $53.54 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to create a "highlighted, dewy glow" on the skin that can be worn alone or added into "skincare, foundation, and makeup." It is supposed to have "buildable luminosity" with a "thin texture." There are two shades, and though the pink one is touted as "cool," it's really a warm-toned pink, just very light. The consistency has a thin, almost oily feel so it was emollient and could spread easily across the skin, but it seemed to take a bit longer to dry down while it sank into the skin more noticeably. It wasn't as dewy after the initial application as I would have expected, and the amount of pearl was moderate with a fine size, so it ended up as a rather subtle highlighter--which may or may not work for you. They wore around seven hours on me, and they did not lift my foundation but seemed to make it wear away faster in that area than normal. Worth noting, the full retail price of these seems unusually high, given the amount of product in the bottle, so it would be one I'd look to catch on sale.

I’m stumped. Wow, I cannot “Love” it or “Hate” it! It has a gorgeous shade of warm pink that I think would actually work on me (at least in winter). However, the breaking down of foundation is a huge no-no in my book!
I think this one is a great product – a very pretty, delicate shade – not too sparkly or shimmery.
And by having the formula as drops you could add it to your foundation to achieve the effect you like.
Considering how much I still like my L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Ice, I’m surprised that the texture rating was lower.
hi! just wanted to note that the first sentence is a bit weird! you wrote ”[the product] is a light pink with warm undertones and a pearly sheen.”, but the ”a” should either be removed, or you should add what type of product it is after ”pink”. anyway, thank you for an awesome blog!
The product type is in the beginning – “True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops” (so it would be redundant to have that twice), since I am describing a specific shade (Daybreak)’s color/finish – this is the same format I use for all my reviews where I describe color, undertone, and finish.
How is this product supposed to be used? All over the face? Under or over foundation? Thanks!
Both – you can use it alone or with other products.
I’ve seen a few others use this and I’m surprised by the pigmentation on it! I think it’d be good if you wanted a highlight for the shoulder area too!
Oh! Gosh! Great timing! I been looking hard for exact this product to add some glow especially during winter time when my face tends to be drier. No glitter just a soft glow sounds perfect. Thanks so much! And a little pink in my life is always appreciated. Will definitely be looking for it.
Forgot to say I already love the Lumi foundation it is my favorite right now. And Maybelline Fit Me! for mornings. ?
