Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon Plush True Velvet Lipstick Colour Review & Swatches
Velvet Ribbon
Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon Plush True Velvet Lipstick Colour ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vibrant, medium red with cooler, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had good color coverage that needed a bit more product to get to full coverage (my lip freckle peeks through ever-so-slightly). The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide across my lips without tugging but never felt slippery on my lips. If you’ve tried a silicone-based face primer, it has a similar glide (the first ingredient in the lipstick formula is dimethicone!). The color sat well on my lips without emphasizing lip texture or lip lines. It wore well for over six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was non-drying over time.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.12 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be a "creamy, hydrating matte with a slight sheen" that is "long wearing and non drying." The three shades launched to-date are very pigmented with a lightly creamy, velvety texture that is thicker (but not heavy!) compared to the Insanely Saturated formula but has a similar velvety quality--smooth, glides on but doesn't feel wet or slippery at all.
The colors went on evenly and smoothly and were more flattering on (less prone to emphasizing lip texture or lip lines) than the average matte lipstick. They wear was between five and seven hours well, and they felt neither drying nor hydrating over time. There is no scent or taste to the formula.

If not for my having at least 3 dupes for this shade, I would be all over it. This one is a beauty! ??
Beautiful color, but gotta be honest, im alittle disappointed in the finish. It’s not nearly as velvety looking in real life as the swatches on her website, definitely having Pat McGrath “Elson” flashbacks. I just wish it was more matte than satin. Pretty shade though.
I love the texture on the bullet!
That is one stunning red shade!
Beautiful in combination with that eyelook, you look stunning!
It’s a pretty lipstick, but I feel it’s nothing special. I think it would be nice for someone who doesn’t have any red lipstick and is in the market for a pricey, luxury red lipstick. Personally, I have too many dupes for this.
This is an utterly fantastic, vibrant red! I have Ruby Woo and Evil Queen, so I don’t feel so bad about missing out on this.
It looks really nice. I would definitely get it if I owned 0 reds!
I have Mac Rouge en Snow and Lancome 197 Rouge Cherie, which are both cool toned reds, and one is matte and other is satin matte. I feel I don’t need it. I got two summer collection lipsticks, so I get to try Lisa lipsticks. I wish she lauched Nudes collection. I bet it will be sold out in few hours 😀 The nude lipstick, she didn’t add to her summer collection, looked perfect.
I was super excited about all three of these and ready to purchase all of them, but now I feel like I’m covered with dupes. I might still pick this one up since I’d like to try the texture/formula. But I really hope her next collection of reds is a little more unique shade-wise!
