Laura Mercier Amaretto Swirl Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm
Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have the “comfort of a lip balm, the coverage of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss.” The three I tried were really quite pigmented, creamy, and hydrating; their downfall was longevity was less than similar-hued shades with a less emollient consistency (not entirely unexpected). There was a slight, sweet scent to them but no discernible taste. It’s a really comfortable formula to wear, and if you don’t mind reapplying or transfer, well worth a look!
Laura Mercier Amaretto Swirl Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “light pinkish beige.” It’s a light-medium, rosy beige with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had mostly opaque coverage with a creamy, smooth texture that applied without dragging and had fairly even coverage. I had some color gather in lip lines, though I don’t think it’s noticeable from a normal viewing distance, and it only wore for three hours, but it was hydrating. YSL Corail Intuitive (15) (P, $38.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). YSL Tender Peach (26) (P, $34.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). Revlon Jungle Peach (LE, $8.49) is lighter, brighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Laura Mercier Juicy Papaya Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “coral pink.” It’s a bold, bright, medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had rich, nearly opaque color payoff with a very smooth, emollient texture. The color wore for five hours on me and left behind a moderate stain. It was comfortable and moisturizing while worn. Giorgio Armani A-List (301) (LE, $38.00) is cooler (95% similar). Buxom Rogue (DC, $21.00) is darker, less glossy (90% similar). Revlon Siren (P, $8.49) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Revlon Kiss Me Coral (P, $8.49) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Psycho (DC, $18.00) is darker, less glossy (90% similar). Maybelline Electric Orange (DC, $7.99) is more muted (85% similar). Make Up For Ever Orange (300) (P, $24.00) is lighter (85% similar). Maybelline Vibrant Mandarin (DC, $7.99) is darker, less glossy (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Laura Mercier Pink Grapefruit Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “blush pink.” It’s a light-medium, peachy-coral with a hint of pink and a creamy, glossy finish. It had almost full color coverage with a hint of the natural lip color peeking through. The texture was soft, creamy, and easy to apply, while the color itself lasted for three and a half hours. The formula was hydrating while worn. Tom Ford Beauty Tantalize (Left) (LE, ) is darker (95% similar). MAC Ravishing (P, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Razzledazzler (P, $19.00) is less glossy (90% similar). L'Oreal Luminous Coral (P, $9.99) is cooler (90% similar). bareMinerals Express Yourself (LE, $20.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). YSL Peach Passion (13) (P, $34.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect (P, $37.00) is cooler (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Roleplay (110) (DC, $30.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Snitch (DC, $18.00) is lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). ColourPop Rise 'n' Shine (P, $7.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Bite Beauty Heather (DC, $28.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Bite Beauty Centifolia (LE, $28.00) is darker, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Smashbox Bad B (P, $24.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (85% similar). Bobbi Brown Pink Nude (DC, $37.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Passion Charge (LE, $19.00) is less pigmented, cooler (85% similar). Buxom Coral Confession (P, $22.00) is darker, cooler, less glossy (85% similar). Cle de Peau Golden Coral (237) (P, $35.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Juicy Papaya has to be my favorite here, but all three colors are so pretty!
They are! These were a lot more impressive than I expected them to be.
I agree! Juicy Papaya is my favorite, as well. 🙂
All of them look pretty on you. Thank you for all of the reviews!!!!!
No problem, Judi!
I have kind of mixed feelings on these, maybe it’s just that these colors aren’t wowing me. They do look super comfortable but I’m not one that usually reaches towards shinier lip products. Also there is a typo in the first line with “sine” instead of shine.
So sorry for my stupidity, Jess!
Not at all!!! We all make mistakes!!
They all look great on you. How do they compare to Revlon Lip Butters?
Revlon Lip Butters have much sheerer coverage, wear even less time, have less shine, and are less hydrating.
IDK, nice but $25 seems like a lot for these. They almost sound like the Revlon Lip Butters
It seems priced right for Laura Mercier’s brand!
All of them are really pretty! I’m such a sucker for MLBB colors, so Amaretto Swirl and Pink Grapefruit are my favorites of the bunch, but Juicy Papaya is very nice too!
Amaretto Swirl is a great color!
I love Pink Grapefruit (and pink grapefruit as well lol), but not sure if this colour would suit me… Hm. I might check it out once we are getting it here. 🙂 Thanks!
No problem!
Pink Grapefruit just went on my wishlist! Because MAC Razzledazzler surprisingly looks good on me, and this LM one is so hydrating, it’s perfect for the hot, dry days up ahead….yikes. But yeah, I love this one!
Amaretto looks really nice too, but probably too pale on my complexion.
These were really quite nice!
I like the look of those, they have more colour than most lipbalms. I like the last two, though the first is a nice nude, it’s too pale a nude for my complexion.
They’re very pigmented for sure!
Yep, I like Amaretto swirl.. it is slightly browner than the more peachy dupes.
Nice 😀
These look really nice! I’m always on the lookout for moisturising lip products that are nice for everyday wear, for work. A lot aren’t moisturising enough for my lips as they get ridiculously dry. I’ll definitely give these a try at the counter. 🙂
Let us know how they work for you, Gillian!
I tend to like this kind of formula for casual summertime looks, but these aren’t quite my colors — I’ll have to check out the other shades!
Hopefully one of the colors tickles your fancy, Fran!
I love Juicy Papaya. All three look really good, though.
I liked that they gave coverage and hydration!
Juicy papaya looks so Juicy! That was a horrible pun! But,it really does and it looks great on you. I’m am so attracted to oranges for the warm weather seasons. I’m just going to have to break down and start wearing them again! This looks like a nice formula. may be worth a check next time I’m in the mall. I really wish someone would add some sun protection to something like this.
lol! But it does!! 🙂
Wow! I like them. I’m so over the whole matte, dry, crusty lip phase! Especially for older gals, like myself. Back to the basics feels good, again:)
Yay!
Didn’t these come out like 5 or 6 months ago? Or are these a new formula?
I don’t think I said they just came out, but I will double check as I know these are newer but not a spring release. This is just when I have been able to try for myself! Sorry for being so behind!
These came out last Summer. I bought Amaretto Swirl and wore it all summer. It was my favorite .. After seeing this I am ready to pull it out of the make up drawer again!
Not a criticism! Was just making sure I wasn’t behind! ^_^ You review so much and I appreciate it.
Christine.. how would you compare juicy papaya to Givenchy Candide Tangerine? It used to be my favorite orange and is now discontinued. Just cannot find anything that is moisterizing, easy to build up and that pretty.
It does seem similar, though this isn’t very buildable!
I wonder if these are too slippy to use as a cream blush. They seem like they would be perfect for dual application.
Nice trio of shades. The dupes for Amaretto are remarkably different, wide rangingly different. If the Papaya color actually WAS coral, I’d have to give in and like coral. But it’s a wonderful red orange and I have all the dupes. Sounds like a comfortable and hydrating formula. Figured out today that the Clinique chubby stick that was in the Xmas Sephora favorites is not. I got a little flaky, more than once, and didn’t start out that way. Glad I didn’t spring for any others. LM certainly seems to have eclipsed Trish McEvoy.
Holy pigment. Looks good on you! Shocker. 😉 1st and last are your lip color! Very pretty!
All three colors are better than i expected.. Love Pink Grapefruit, curious how the coverage would be on my lips.. They are more brown pigmented.. 🙂 Juicy Papaya looks so vibrant!
Juicy Papaya really looks juicy! Pink Papaya is my favorite though.
They are very pretty, shiny and I think it’s nice to see shine in lip products as a contrast to all the mattes ( I loke all types of finishes, and I like variety). However I don’t think I’d buy these as the price is on the high end, and even though they last on your lips, Christine, they wouldn’t on mine, me being a notorious lip presser/rubbing lipstickeater 🙂
Pink Grapefruit looks like that perfect swipe-on-and-go summer lip colour, so I’ll be getting that one for sure 🙂 Amaretto is interesting but with the rosy undertone could lean a little cool on me so I’ll need to try that one before I buy. All of them look so good on you, Christine!
