Kaleidos Cold Smoke & Cognac Lip Clays Reviews & Swatches
Cold Smoke
Kaleidos Cold Smoke Cloud Lab Lip Clay ($12.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark taupe-brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The texture was lightweight, mousse-like, and velvety, which ensured the product spread readily across my lips for even, opaque coverage achieved in just one layer. It stayed on well for six hours and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview
$12.00/0.08 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "cream-to-powder texture" that is "kiss-proof once set" with a "silky and weightless" feel on the lips. The brand didn't specifically make any claims about pigmentation in their description, but the promotional swatches included at the point of purchase show fully opaque coverage across the board.
They have a very lightweight, mousse-like texture that was very lightweight, velvety, and smooth with good spreadability. The applicator held a good amount of product without being too generous, as I did not feel like I had to wipe off excess. They took a few minutes to dry down, and the dry down time varied a little between some shades. They were forgiving of most lip texture and weren't too prone to emphasizing lip lines or settling into them.
Most shades had opaque color coverage in one layer of product. With deeper shades, two layers tended to be better for full, even coverage, despite the shades themselves being quite pigmented in a single layer, but they were more prone to spreading and diffusing unevenly. The shades tended to dry down within 15 minutes with some doing so within five minutes to a more transfer-resistant finish.
The formula wore between four and eight hours on me with deeper, reddish shades lasting longer and leaving subtle stains behind. They felt non-drying over time. I did not notice any scent or taste.

Cognac
Kaleidos Cognac Cloud Lab Lip Clay ($12.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a rich, reddish-brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which could be built up if desired. The texture was lightweight, velvety, and mousse-like, which made it easy to spread out across my lips. It wore well for six and a half hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Oh, I am loving Cold Smoke for summer! Or almost any time of year, to be perfectly honest. Normally, this is not something I would go for, but this brown has *just* enough warmth and something else that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Very autumn like shades here, I do like Cogmac the best and it looks like it would be comfortable to wear too.
Cognac is a great shade and Kaleidos is being truthful when they state “supreme comfort”. I just wore it today, it’s lovely and the staying power is unmatched, truly that unicorn-rare non drying liquid matte! Love these, love the price, don’t love the shipping time (because of Shanghai lockdown I’m STILL waiting on my Cold Brew/Black Jasmine order from early April!)
