Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I just bought some fragrance samples after being on a hiatus this last couple of months. The new MAC eyeliners.

Weekend plans: I need to get rid of some dying plants in my various planters, and I might see if I can get some lantana (perennial here) to fill in some areas. My dad’s birthday is coming up, too, so we are celebrating this weekend.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? I do not! We might try to eventually get to Sedona this summer… lol.

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Sydney Grace taupe deep mystery bag and eyeshadow dingles in Strawberries & Cream and Blushed. Innisfree Green Tea serum, Green Tea hydrating cream, Aloe sleeping mask, Aloe mist, eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown. Maybelline BB Cream in Light/Medium and Instant Age Rewind concealer in Neutralizer. Revlon Kiss Balm in Fresh Strawberry.

Weekend plans: Probably just errands and fart around the house. I need to get to Target (1.5 hours away 😫) for some returns tho.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? Baby’s 1 year birthday is next Tuesday & our anniversary is the following day but Harry’s work schedule is super busy so I’m not sure we’ll actually do anything. But Baby’s hanbok (traditional Korean clothes) should arrive and I can’t wait to see him in it!

NEW PURCHASES: Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip Fix Cream. Mariella convinced me! 🙂

WEEKEND PLANS: My oldest son has the virus now, so taking care of him. I’m mostly recovered. I need to fill out my ballot and mail it off, too.

DO YOU HAVE EXCITING PLANS COMING UP?
Not till early September. For our 31st anniversary we’re taking a trip to Phoenix, AZ and seeing my favorite band. I’m also hoping to finally meet our Nancy T. In person, and another good, long-time online friend. We’re hoping to take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. We don’t have the rest of the trip planned out yet. If anyone wants to throw out some recommendations, go for it and thanks.

I’m not sure what the summer will bring. We may be empty nesters by the end of it! My older son has a friend wanting to move to Oregon within the next couple months and get a place with him. My younger son has the money saved for deposits, and his GF will soon be in a position with her health to start working. *Fingers and toes crossed.*

September is definitely going to be a great month, from the sounds of it! I can hardly wait to meet you in person too, Rachel! Going to start looking into fun places to visit in the Valley that you may be interested in. I HIGHLY recommend visiting Jerome, AZ and Sedona. Both are such interesting, fun places with lots of specialty Mom & Pop run shops and Jerome has a couple of mini museums, too!

Genevieve Avatar

Wow Rachel – everything is falling into place in your household and I can tell you now, having the family home to yourself is bliss – although they can boomerang back in (as I learnt last year).
Hopefully your family get to recover from the virus quite quickly – it’s been an awful few weeks for you. My husband has come down with a slight cold (Covid negative) just as we are going away. I really hope he gets better soon (so far, just whingeing on the couch about his running nose LOL!).
How lovely to be going to Phoenix and catching up with Nancy – OMG – you two will have so much to talk about and share re your makeup. A trip to the Grand Canyon is a must see and I think you will all have a wonderful time.
Do you have an election coming up as well? We did an early vote yesterday for our Federal election, which is to be held next Saturday week. So far, I am over the election debates and lots of junk mail regarding this in the letter box.
Take care and I hope your younger son’s GF can start working soon too.

Recent Purchases: As I mentioned previously, I wasn’t buying anything for weeks… until everything started to finish, so I had to place multiple orders.
On the last legs of Mother’s Day deal I made a MAC order, since my foundation is barely squeezing product. I just got necessities: Magic Extension Fiber Mascara (new to me), Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation (constant re-purchase), Eye Brows Styler pencil.
And since lots of my skincare is also emptying and Rakuten has 15-20% cashback this week it was the perfect time for a Paula’s Choice order. I got the SKIN RECOVERY Enriched Calming Toner, CLEAR Oil-Free Moisturizer, SKIN RECOVERY Softening Cream Cleanser, CLEAR Extra Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution With 2% Salicylic Acid, The UnScrub, CLEAR Regular Strength Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, a mini of the DEFENSE Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer to keep as hand cream at work. I got for free the 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and SKIN PERFECTING 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel (both full size).

Weekend plans: Sprinkling some hiking (hopefully in the redwoods) along the regular boring but not boring to me stuff. After a long week of F2F meetings with colleagues traveling from other countries, I need a weekend of nothingness.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? Yes… but I’m just too afraid to shout them to the ether. Flight have been cancelled and I had to modify plans several times… so I’m prefer to be cautious to make expectations and I pretend there’s nothing ahead.

Genevieve Avatar

I hear what you are saying Ana Maria regarding flights being cancelled etc and being cautious about your plans. My best friend wants to see her son in London and has ‘cautiously’ booked Septermber this year….but you never know what can happen these days. You just can’t plan too far ahead.
It’s good to read that you are up and running around. The redwoods would be beautiful to visit and walk amongst.
Some lovely, effective skincare products you have purchased and some freebies as well that sound good. I often find that quite a few of my skincare items run out around the same time too, but I have a healthy stash in my skincare bag to pick from. Stay well.

Recent Purchases: No purchases this week, though an order I made from the Makeup Geek closeout sale should be in today! It’s not makeup though, it’s more skincare? I think? Or maybe it’s a primer. Either way, it’s not eyeshadow, lol.

Rediscoveries: I pulled out my PMGL Celestial Divinity palette this week and remembered just how much I enjoy the shades Odyssey and Cosmik. I also used my Menagerie Cosmetics Violet Ink palette for the first time in a while. Still such lovely perfect purples. I also used my Nars Light Reflecting Foundation all week and I really love it.

Weekend plans: Driving up to Michigan for a family reunion! Because of covid, my son hasn’t had the opportunity to meet extended family, so he’ll finally be able to meet his great aunts and uncles (and hopefully some cousins) on my dad’s side. I’m really looking forward to it.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? A mini vacation to Gatinburg in October. We’re trying to budget better so we can have more little getaways as a family. Both my husband and I work remote now and we are getting restless in our house.

Genevieve Avatar

I think the PMGL Celestial Divinity would be a fabulous palette – now that I am using the Subliminal Bronze Platinum one, I can really appreciate the quality of Pat’s palettes. Such a diverse range of shades that would easily work with others too.
I hope you have a safe drive to Michigan and enjoy the family reunion – your son will love seeing/meeting new cousins and it will be a wonderful catch up for you all.
Little vacations are much easier to plan and budget for than big, long ones. I found that when our children were little, 4-5 days away was enough to recharge the batteries and by then you just feel like sleeping in your own bed. Both of you working from home is, I guess, an interesting social experiment -and feeling like you have cabin fever would be one of the issues too.
Have fun this weekend Celesta.

Recent purchases: The Inkey List Retinol Serum, Supergoop Glowscreen SPF40 (I’m already lovin’ the glow) and Gisou hair oil which I used right away and really love (except for the price, that is!). Rediscoveries: Tarte Shakedown eyeshadow. I’ve used it almost every day this week and it’s such an easy shade to wear.

Weekend plans: dinner out tonight with hubs, an Indian wedding tomorrow and then my daughter and son in law are dropping by on Sunday for a belated (because of suspected Covid contact) Mothers’ Day visit

Exciting plans coming up? Our 42nd anniversary later this month, a baby shower in June for my daughter (from her husband’s side of the family) and a baby in July!!! Can’t get much more exciting than that!

Genevieve Avatar

You’ve got another busy weekend coming up, which I am sure you will enjoy. I always like going out for dinner on Friday night – it kind of ends the week well…
It will be lovely to catch up with your daughter and son in law too.
Happy Anniversary as well and lots to be looking foward to, with the addition of a little one.

Recent Purchases: UD Vice Lipstick in Liar

Rediscoveries: Shopped my stash and rediscovered Clinique Peach Pop Blush, which I’ve been using all week.

Weekend Plans: There’s a local shop that sells used tarot decks, so I’m going to see if they’ll buy some of mine that I don’t want.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? We just booked a Disney World trip near the end of the year. But right now we’re focused on our sick elderly dog.

Winnie!!! 🌺🐶🌴🌼

Purchases/rediscoveries: No purchases this past week. Only “rediscovery” was the highlighter side of my Natasha Denona Love Cheek Duo the other day. It never fails to give my high points of my face a very pretty duochrome glow that looks a bit ethereal!

Weekend plans: Trying to get some assistance with my getting my laundry done. It has really piled up since I’ve been home. I do have a rolling laundry basket, but I also have stairs where I live, and I’m not supposed to be lifting anything heavier than 10-15 lbs. Therein lies the challenge: STAIRS! Other than that dilemma, just my meeting on Zoom is on my schedule.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? The only thing I can think of is the day when my oncologist who performed my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago gives me the all clear to get back in the pool to swim and chillax! Oh, and to be allowed to dance and exercise again, too. Would LOVE to hit the pool this weekend, but nope! No can do.

Genevieve Avatar

Oh Nancy – you must be running out of things to wear! You can’t take a little bit down at a time to the laundry or is that still too difficult with the steps. I know what you are saying though. It just a shame that there is no ramp…..
When do you get to see the oncologist again Nancy? It must be fairly soon and I do hope you get the all clear to go into a pool.

I was lucky enough to score one of the coveted 2500 point $100 rouge reward giftcards. Decided to grab the fullsize of By the Fire or whatever that Replica one is called. I’ve purchased two travel sizes before; and after looking at how much Jazz Club I still have – despite using liberally – it was a good choice. Though I *do* find the fullsize smells a little different than the travels I’ve gotten, samples, and testers in store. There’s a kind of….”cheap” sweetness there now – a la Pink Sugar – that I’m hoping is my imagination or just a tousled bottle needing to rest a few days more.

Genevieve Avatar

How cute is Winnie – by your side when watering and having a little drink too. Happy Birthday to your Dad Christine and I hope he has a wonderful time celebrating with his family and enjoys good health this year.

Recent Purchases – EA Lip Fix Cream – all down to Mariella!
Rediscoveries: A few this week: Guerlain’s Les Gris eyeshadow quad, bareMinerals Soft and Smokey, and PMG’s Sublime Mini to name a few. Lipsticks – Shiseido’s Lantern Red, CP’s Tea Thyme and LA Lady.

Weekend Plans:Tidying up the house and packing our bags to go away for our first holiday in years up to Bendigo. I am going to be looking at the things to do and places to visit, as well as good restaurants to go to as well. Yay! No cooking for a week..
During the week Lachlan fell over at school and landed on his elbow – and yep…a hairline fracture, so he will be in plaster for three weeks (his second one – same arm).
We’ll be watching Eurovision tonight as well – we are big, big Eurovision fans – so that will be lovely too.

Exciting Plans: Going away for a week!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I just got a Sephora package-Sephora #Lipstories Treat Yo Self lipstick, Valentino Born in Roma Eye2Cheek eyeshadow/blush, a travel spray of Ellis Brooklyn Sci Fi edp, and backups of Fenty 110 concealer and soft matte foundation.
Weekend plans: Worked all day and partial grocery run today, hide from thunderstorms tomorrow, pick up a prescription and partial grocery run Sunday.
Do you have exciting plans coming up? The closest thing I have to exciting plans is an EDI training seminar at work on the 25th.

Stephanie Avatar

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I got the LYS foundation to try out and a Sephora favorites luxury box w/ Shu Uemura hair oil, Saint Jane serum, YSL Libre perfume, and a few other nice things. I made the order so I could get my b-day gift as well. (I went with Tatcha!)

Weekend plans: Today (Saturday) me, hubs, and the dog went to the redwoods up near Santa Cruz. It was a bit warm, but Ellie got to meet lots of friends on the trails, mostly dogs and a few kids.

Do you have exciting plans coming up? My birthday, my husband’s birthday, and our 19 year anniversary are coming up in a little over a week. We are going to Palm Springs–it has been a long time “oh we should do that” kind of thing, and now we are doing that!
