Huda Beauty Nude Light Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Nude Light
Huda Beauty Nude Light Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, rosy-toned neutral palette that is designed specifically with lighter skin tones in mind (like Nude Medium and Nude Rich being designed for medium and deeper skin tones respectively). The palette includes five matte eyeshadows and four shimmery shades housed in a slim, travel-friendly compact.
The mattes were soft, blendable, and fairly pigmented, though they were slightly to lightly dusty to powdery, so there was a bit of sheerness at times. The shimmers were pigmented, smooth and cream-like without being too firmly-pressed into the pans, so they picked up well with dry brushes and didn’t have to be used with fingertips or a wet brush.

Nude Light #1
Nude Light #1 is a light-medium mauve with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer m ore. The texture was soft, a little dusty in the pan, but it applied evenly and blended out well without losing its intensity. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Nude Light #2
Nude Light #2 is a bright, pinky lavender with subtle, warmer undertones and cooler, icy shimmer and larger sparkle. It appeared lighter and brighter applied than it did in the pan, and often, shades in the family have a duochrome shift to them but this was just very sparkly and metallic.
It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was dense without being thick or too firmly pressed into the pan. There were signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Nude Light #3 is a light-medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that applied evenly and blended out well on bare skin, though it sheered out slightly due to the more powdery texture. The color lasted decently for seven and a half hours on me before fading visibly.

Nude Light #6
Nude Light #6 is a bright, cotton candy pink base with strong, white-to-gold shifting sparkle and shimmer throughout. It had full color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out the edges for a diffused effect, but some of the sparkle sat on top and tended to separate from the product a bit too readily during blending.
The texture was slightly more loosely-pressed so I’d recommend using a lighter hand when picking up product initially. It lasted nicely for eight hours on me before creasing slightly.

This one has some lovely colors. No. 1 and 6 are very pretty!
I’m very undecided. I would like to catch 2 of these nude obsession, but I don’t know which Ones! The medium One, for sure… The I’m debating between the light and the rich… My personal tastes are more towards the rich Ones, but maybe I already have something similar in my collection… About this, until see tour review I thought that this was the less pigmented, instead It score higher than the other two! My feat Is that the colour on the light palette are going ti show well only on the fairest and coolest complexion… But since It seemed worked on Christine, It would work for me too, I am light to medium and warm… Ok I have definitively to decide between the light and the rich and I am open to suggestioni from everyone!
It seems to me that the Rich and the Medium are far closer than the Medium and the Light. See if you can see them in person.
I was debating same issue. I am light skinned. All the shadows show up on me without problem. I always use ABH primer as a base for my shadows. My take: I’m passing on Medium as it is too warm for my skintone. I decided on the Light and it’s very pretty and subtle. If you are aiming for a soft ethereal look, this is perfect. I think if you are looking for more depth, go with the Rich.. or both ?
Hi Francesca,
Well, we’re all different, but I find that I get a lot more use out of colors that are of similar intensity to my own coloring. As I get older the more dramatic looks I (thought I) could get away with earlier, just don’t work anymore – dark colors close down the space around my eyes too much. I’m also light-med and warm – I’d go with the lighter one, especially since you think you have more dupes for “Rich” and have contouring options in the lighter two palettes.
opinions r us 🙂
I don’t know if my input will be particularly helpful since I am very fair and this palette would work beautifully for me but after reviewing all three and then comparing what I have and what I want, I would go with the light version, (this palette). I think that a lot depends on the type of e/s looks you go with but I think this palette would be a work horse in anyone’s collection. You can make a full look with this palette and if you decide to pull in other shades there are a lot of cool toned transition and medium toned shades. I decided to pick this one up because I don’t have a really exhaustive collection of light nudes such as this. I always thought I would eventually pick up the KVD Shade and Light palette but it has a lot of darker shades I would never use and also, I am boycotting KVD so there is that also!
True, I may not fall into the “light” range, but I do want this little palette! It has some beautiful dupes of some much more expensive eyeshadows in it, making it very appealing to me. I can also see it and Deep working fantastically with New Nude!
This is a very pretty collection of shades, but how is a palette full of peaches and pinks considered “nude”?
Exactly my reaction! Not an unattractive little palette, but… “nude” how??!
I really like this, except for #9. I have no use for a fairly dark warm brown.
I also think that it doesn’t really fit the color scheme, I think it should have been cooler, maybe deep mauve instead of deep brown. I don’t know with what to deepen the outer V when I use cooler colors in this palette, don’t want to get it purely because of that.
I pretty much bought this for Shade #2 – that shimmery lavender is everythinggg even though it’s not right for the season at all XD
Rules are officially abolished. Wear what you want, when you want. There’s quite a lot of light shadows this F/W season.
Ooo…this is really pretty! I kinda want it! :o) Thanks for the review and your eye look is lovely!
How close is this to the New Nudes? I already own that and these look very similar. (except for one or two colors which I really like!)
You can compare any two palettes here: https://www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list/
This is really, really lovely, and it would be a great replacement for my Chocolate Bon Bons palette which is just on the edge of needing to be tossed. The mix of warm and cool tones along with the limited number of shades is so appealing.
Another sterling Huda Beauty palette in the lighter shades. I find that there is enough variation here to create quite a few eye looks with the inclusion of some deeper shades. I think that all 3 of them are great, but I think the Medium and the Rich would offer more….
I was so sure I’d buy this if it got good grades, and it did, but looking closely and checking all the dupes it turns out I have dupes for all but one of the shades I really like. I don’t have anything from Huda Beauty and though it would be fun to try the brand, but now I think it’ll have to wait. Money saved. And after all I still am on a low buy, so I guess it’s a good thing. Besides how many palettes do I think I need? 😀
I’m actually really excited about this. Somehow I only have two dupes out of the nine colours. A pink tones is more “nude” on me because I have a super pink undertone being fair. The only colour I don’t understand is the super warm brown in such a cool toned palette. Although basic, this is different then every other warm tones palette on the market.
I’m right there with you, Kim! I look so sick in warm tones. Thinking about getting this one.
I just got this, and can’t wait to try it out now that you’ve given it a good grade. It’s just perfect for fair skin. I can see this becoming a go-to travel palette.
Kind of an adult take on girly, if that makes any sense at all. Not my thing, but not bad at all.
I am even more sad now that this got a good review. I’ve tried to buy it twice on-line, once from Sephora and once from Huda, and both times it arrived totally shattered even though all other items in the order were fine. Which makes me wonder if it wouldn’t be very good to travel with which is one reason I love smaller palettes. If I can catch it in store I still may get it but my local Sephora was out of it. =(
A tad surprised, but since I really liked the New Nude palette, and think about it more, I’m not surprised that it rated well. I won’t be getting it though. That’s enough nude for me.
I would buy this in a heartbeat (and dont invest in palettes without thorough research – I only have three palettes: a rainbow, a pastel, and a somewhat neutral) if it were truly nude for fair skinned people. I so badly want an everyday, small palette!
But purple is not nude, albeit pretty. And neither is a warm-toned brown for most on the paler end of the spectrum.
I think I’ll have to invest in a Korean palette similar to this like 3CE. Thank you for the review!
